The Gadgets of the Golden Age of Gaming

These three gadgets from the days of the SNES and Genesis were the cream of the crop cutting edge for their day.

Hello my fellow game heads and welcome to my article on the greatest gadgets of the golden age of gaming. This is not at all about the actual games or the major consoles it is about the stuff that only the most hardcore gaming fans will have ever heard of.

This article is about stuff like the Telegenesis the XBAND and my personal favorite, the game without a name, the TV of every nerd dreams the sharp 19sc111.

The Telegenesis is the holy grail of video game collecting in my mind (I have heard of collectors paying over a thousand dollars for on of these). Sorry I am getting of track of the subject of what is a Telegenesis well it is modems for people ho play the old Sega genesis to play against other people thru the internet.

In other words this is the first time ever in all of gaming that online play became a reality (a slow and primitive reality but a reality nonetheless). Sadly besides a small retail release in Japan (where it was called the mega modem) it never so the light of day in America or Europe (except for the extremely wealthy hue have found to by them from the collators circles.

The XBAND is something that any truly dedicated video game collector can find and by if he really (and I mean REALY) put his or her mind to it can find it and by it. Many inside circles considered the XBAND as the next grate step in the evolution of gaming. It was really a great idea.

Make a little box that you hook up to you SNES or genesis plug it in to the internet and play it wasn’t like the Telegenesis were you had to go thru all these complicated steps to play. It was fun and simple; I do not understand why it did not sell that good. They even have some unreleased games that where going to be cross compatible so the SNES players could play against genesis players. To bad its sales were horrible it was years ahead of its time.

Drum roll please for the greatest freaking game gadget ever, the sharp 19sc111. I can explain everything I know about this gadget in one sentence. It is a 19-inch TV screen with a built in NES and I have no clue hue made it, when they mad it or how many there are so do not ask. Thou it would be nice if you could post those answers in the comments area.

One more thing you can by the original Saturn controllers and joystick pad for the PS2 and it will be directly compatible with some Sega games (not exactly golden age of gaming but its really cool you can get one for $22 and the joy stick pad for $57).
