Travian Hero Guides
All you need to know about Heroes from Travian is here.
Conditions to get a hero: Main Building level 3, Rally Point level 1, Hero’s Mansion level 1
Once you’ve built the Hero’s mansion (level 1), you can turn a normal unit into a hero. To make a hero you must first produce the troop to be upgraded to hero status.
In the game, the hero is controlled in the same manner as regular troops. If you have multiple villages, you need a Hero’s mansion in the new village to change his home village (one cannot have the mighty roughing it with the common man).
After you have trained the standard unit up to hero status you are given 5 initial skill points to raise your hero above the regular troops and five different attributes to assign them to. Every time your hero levels up you receive another 5 skill points to assign. Each attribute can be raised to a maximum level of 100. While at level 0 you are able to reallocate the skill-points distribution, but once you get to level 1 your selections are permanent.
Offense
Selecting this increases the hero’s individual direct Attack value (the starting point is dependent upon the unit the hero was formed from).
Defense
Selecting this increases the hero’s individual direct Defense value (the starting point and relative infantry/cavalry values are dependent upon the unit the hero was formed from).
Off Bonus: Each point invested in this increases the Attack value of each unit in the same attack as the hero by 0.2%, to a maximum of 20%. This only counts if the units are attacking with the Hero.
Def-Bonus
Each point invested in this increases the Defense value of each unit defending with the hero by 0.2%, to a maximum of 20%. This only counts if the units are defending with the Hero.
Regeneration
Selecting this increases your regeneration by 5 per day. This means the hero regains 5% extra of his total health per day.
Once you upgrade the Hero’s mansion to level 10, you can start annexing oases. You may annex up to 3 oases per mansion: your first at level 10, another at level 15, and one more at level 20. To annex an oasis it must be within 3 squares of the respective village (on that village’s mini-map).
One can also steal the oases of other players. To steal an oasis from other players you will have to destroy the defense that is stationed there and attack it multiple times with the hero. If the current owner has already 3 oases then 1 attack will be enough. If s/he has 2, you will need 2 attacks. If the other player has just one oasis, then you will have to attack the oasis 3 times before it will be yours.

Thanks for the help, i appreciate it.
wow you know your stuff keep it up
one thing is wrong…
if your hero is at level 21, you need 100*22 (upgrade to level 22) kills, you even mentioned it in the example (25300-23100=2200)…
beat me off

thanks dude awesome
When you transfer a hero between villages does the previous village lose any annexed oases?
You should not loose your oases if you move the hero. I do not know if the new age of Travian changed the rules
Hero level 30 (Teutonic Knight)
Attack: 5925 (+) 45
Defense: 85/125 (+) 0
Off-Bonus: 20% (+) 100
Def-Bonus: 0% (+) 0
Regeneration: 50/day (+) 10
Thanks, but I have one question.
If your hero is defending someone else, does its defence bonus effect all the troops in defence or just yours?
Hero level 44 (Theutates Thunder)
Attack: 1165 (+) 12
Defense: 40/65 (+) 0
Off-Bonus: 20% (+) 100
Def-Bonus: 17% (+) 85
Regeneration: 140/day (+) 28
Your Hero protects all the troops in your village that is YOUR OWN. At least that is how it was when i played Travian, i am not sure if the admins changed the rules any time soon.
Theutates Thunder is not a good defense Hero, its more offensive
I just hAVE to know why I can’t build a hero mansion. I’m a Roman, have 2 cities but I can NOT build the mansion and so I can NOT train a hero. This is driving me NUTS!!! What am I doign wrong??? Please help!!!
To paul;
Hero’s Mansion
In the hero’s mansion you can train a hero. A normal unit is required to be trained into a hero. A barracks or stable is also necessary to train a hero.
At levels 10, 15, and 20 your hero can annex 1, 2, and 3 oases, respectively. These oases increase production of their particular resource in the annexing village.
Costs and construction times at level 1:
700 | 670 | 700 | 240 | 2 | 0:38:20
Prerequisites:
Main Building level 3, Rally Point level 1
Hey Tonkman, thanks for the reply… My main building is level 10 and my ralley point level 2. Stable is level 10 and Barracks level 9 and STILL the Hero’s mansion doesn’t show up in the list. Isn’t this crazy???
To Paul:
do u happen to play the com3 server, because there are classic servers that doesnt have heroes and trappers and stuff.
★ Lord Jay level 56 ★
(Teutonic Knight)
Off-Bonus: 20%
Def-Bonus: 20%
My question is as follows … What’s the max level a hero can reach ? realistically ?
Can a hero do attacks on an oasis in order to strip it away from a village (even though the hero is not in his 7×7)?
It looks like the answer is, “No, you have to be in your 7×7 of one of your villages. The attack would simply be a “raid” for resources.”
What do you guys think?
Gman
Though I read several forums, sites abt Heroes I was not clear abt the regeneration. Everyone said ‘it is regeneration rate’. You have clearly mentioned what it means . Thanks
1 more thing that I learnt is , a hero who is sent as reinforcement can be converted into the village’s unit with the help of hero’s mansion.
Great info.
thanks
Great job man this really helps
does hero levels if it kills animals?
To Jay:
i play on the speed servers and
Name: Forest Gump
Player: woohoo
LVL: 94
XP: 450040
is the best hero on the server
To Jule:
yes s/he does
Why wouldn’t the game itself have this kind of info? I’ve waisted valuble time figuring all this out on my own. I could be at a higher lvl if I knew all this before.
This is ALL on the website: help.travian.com
I was kinda hoping for a better guide, i.e. one that would tell me what a player should use his hero for, and analyse the benefits and drawbacks of certain unit types as heroes.
And not just reproduce the info from the official site…

One important thing is about choosing the speed of your hero. Whenever he (or she:-) accompanies troops their speed is adjusted to his speed. For example, if you have an infantry hero it will slowdown infantry attacks which you might be sending with him.
Sorry for the mistake, it will slow down the “cavalry” attacks, of course
