In 2009, if you thought that there were already too many Wii games available on store shelves, then I bet you were surprised by the hundreds of new games that were released for Nintendo’s most popular console yet. However, only a few of those games are worth your hard-earned dollars. It's time to find out the Top 10 Nintendo Wii games as of 2009!

It was November 6, 2008 that saw the debut of my article entitled Top 10 2008 Nintendo Wii Games. It was the first article I ever wrote on Triond and it has since picked up more than 4,200 views. Now it’s exactly 1 year later and I’m back again to host the Top 10 Nintendo Wii Games of 2009!

In the past year, not much has changed regarding Nintendo’s latest home-based gaming system. Its price has dropped considerably to only $199 U.S. and many of last year’s best games remain on this year’s list. Notable Wii game releases this year include Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but let’s start the countdown and see what you’ll be buying this holiday season!

#10 – Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Pokémon Battle Revolution held on at #10. It has since been bumped off the Top 10 list entirely.

This year at the 10th spot on the list is a sequel to one of the most unique sports games released for the Wii. You probably remember Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Well, this game is a sequel to that, obviously to commemorate the 2010 Winter Olympics. In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter games, players take control of one of many Nintendo or Sega characters and compete against each other in a variety of authentic events seen in the actual Olympics. Players can use the WiiBalance Board for some of the events as well. This game offers both cooperative and competitive game modes for intense multiplayer action. Also, the 2010 Winter Olympics will share in the royalties from this game’s sales, so you can feel good about purchasing it.

#9 – Wii Sports Resort

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Mario Party 8 took a #9 position on the list. This year, it’s no longer a Top 10 Nintendo Wii game.

At #9 this time around, Wii Sports Resort takes the spot. This sequel to the classic Wii Sports that came out in November 2006, Wii Sports Resort offers even more games to enhance your playing lifestyle. Classics like Bowling and Golf return, but are accompanied by brand new events such as Basketball, Archery, Frisbee, Swordplay, Power Cruising and many more. Players can also use the new WiiMotion-Plus accessory to even further enhance their precision movements with the Wii Remote, so there are no more frustrating putter swings like in the old Wii Sports. It’s definitely a fun and enjoyable experience for the whole family.

#8 – Super Paper Mario

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Mario Super Sluggers remained strong at #8. This year, it has dropped off the list. Taking its place is Super Paper Mario, which dropped a bit from its 3rd place position in 2008.

This third incarnation of the Paper Mario series focuses on Mario’s ability to take out Count Bleckas he attempts to prevent our hero from obtaining the 8 pure hearts that will put a stop to his evil plan of complete world domination. Old fans of the series will have to adjust to the new real-time battles included in the game, but with plenty of unique items, tons of different Wii Remote action commands, and a storyline which will take you laughing till the very end, Super Paper Mario is still a Top 10 Nintendo Wii game as of 2009!

#7 – Super Mario Galaxy

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Super Mario Strikers Charged was the 7th most popular game on our Top 10 list. Now, it’s no longer a Top 10 game, and its position now holds Super Mario Galaxy.

It was voted the best game of 2007, it was the #1 game on our Top 10 Wii list of 2008, and it’s still part of our Top 10 list of 2009. Super Mario Galaxy really puts the Wii’s ATI Radeon card to the test for graphics capabilities. Our hero must once again defeat evil king Bowser, but to do so, he’ll need to travel from planet to planet as he obtains stars that will power the ultimate spaceship to reach Bowser andsave Princess Peach. If you’re looking for an awesome single-player game, Super Mario Galaxy is definitely worth purchasing.

#6 – Mario Kart Wii

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Animal Crossing: City Folk made its debut at #6. It’s no longer a Top 10 Wii game, and Mario Kart Wii takes its place, moving up slightly from #4 on last year’s list.

In Mario Kart Wii, only the ultimate racer will prevail in this console’s most exciting and strategic competitive racing game. Place your Wii Remote inside the included Wii Wheel andtake a spin around a multitude of different racing tracks as you attempt to outrace your competition. You can even pick up items along the track that will help your performance and hinder your opponents’ chances of crossing the finish line in one piece. And prepare to take your competitiveness online as you challenge opponents across the world using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Are you truly the ultimate kart racer?

#5 – Metroid Prime: Trilogy

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess kicked off the Top 5 games for the Wii. In 2009, Twilight Princess just didn’t make the cut and was removed from the list.

Fans of first-person shooters had their jaws drop this August when Metroid Prime: Trilogy hit store shelves. Retro Studios managed to include Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and MetroidPrime 3: Corruption on a single dual-layer video game disc. With shorter loading times, updated graphics, new playing controls and an immersive story, Metroid Prime: Trilogy will keep you shooting your enemies for hours on end. Although Metroid Prime 3: Corruption lacks multiplayercapability, I think you’ll still be happy with this special 3-game collector’s set in your Wii library.

#4 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Mario Kart Wii came in at #4. Since then, it has moved up two spots to #6.

We’ve all seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward on the CW4Kids. With a brand new TMNTseries coming to Nickelodeon in 2012, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up is definitely a game that will keep you in front of your television set. Just like withthe Super Smash Bros. series of games, your objective in Smash-Up is to knock your opponents off the stage or lower their HP to zero in order to advance from one level to the next. With various battle modes such as Tournament, Arcade, Battle Royale, Mission and Survival, there’s plenty of replayability in this Wiititle. With the capability for 4-player online competitive battles, Smash-Up is the next-best game to Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

#3 – Super Smash Bros. Brawl

(Source Image)

Speaking of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it has moved up one spot on our list from last year, knocking Super Paper Mario into 8th place.

It’s the most intense multiplayer fighting game currently out on the Nintendo Wii, even beating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up. In the single-player story mode, you’ll have to advance from one level to the next as you attempt to stop the Subspace Emissary from taking over the universe. There will be intense battles, lots of items to pick up, anda level of graphics that only rival those of Super Mario Galaxy. With plenty of characters to choose from, a plethora of different stages to fight on, and numerous gaming modes to sink your teeth into, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is still 2-years-running the best multiplayer game for the Wii.

#2 – The Conduit

(Source Image)

Last year in 2008, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the 2nd best game of the year for the Nintendo Wii. Over the course of the entire year, it has only moved up one spot on the list to #3.

Sitting pretty at #2 is a game that focuses upon the alien invasion of Washington D.C. in the near future. The Drudge is an alien race that will use subspace conduits to stop at nothing in order to conquer humanity. It’s up to you to use your superior weapons and tactical skills to take them down. And with a visual experience similar to those of games seen on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, you’ll wonder why you hadn’t switched over to the Wiimonths ago. With up to 12 players trying to shoot each other down online over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and plenty of weapons and environments to choose from, The Conduit is definitely the best online shooting game currently available for the Wii.

#1 – New Super Mario Bros. Wii

(Source Image)

And finally, as you all remember, Super Mario Galaxy used to hold the title for the #1 Nintendo Wii game as of 2008. Unfortunately, it just could not hold on to that spot, and it moved up to 7th position on the list, which means we have a BRAND NEW game at #1!

There are those of us who prefer to stick to playing classic titles, as opposed to newfangled first-person shooters. When it comes to classics, Nintendo is not one to disappoint. When Mario first made his debut on the original Nintendo Entertainment System, it was a huge success for Nintendo. Decades later, we see the revival of a classic NES title in all of its glory. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the first Super Mario game to actually feature simultaneous cooperative multiplayer, where up to 4 players can team up to take down Bowser’s minions and once again save Princess Peach from the evil Koopa’s claws. New items such as the Ice Flower and the Propeller Suit will keep you one step ahead of your foes and will be need to be used strategically in order to advance between levels. Even though it lacks online multiplayer, the revival of a true classic in New Super Mario Bros. Wii definitely earns it the #1 spot on our list of Top 10 Nintendo Wii games as of 2009!

Other Great Wii Games

In particular, many Nintendo gamers might wonder why I’ve left out a couple of other good games on this Top 10 Wii Games List. I’ve tried my best to write a list incorporating what I believe are the best games of the system as of 2009, based upon gameplay, graphics, sound, storyline and replayability. If you believe there’s another good Wiigame that’s worth being mentioned, feel free to post a comment to my article and let everyone else know.

And that concludes our Top 10 Nintendo Wii games list for 2009! I’d like to thank everyone for their suggestions, andI’d especially like to thank the game designers for creating such masterful pieces of both single-player and multiplayer gameplay!

Next year, we look forward to Super Mario Galaxy 2, Star Wars: Battlefront III, Red Steel 2, Metroid: Other M, a brandnew Legend of Zelda, and of course, many other exciting titles as well! I’ll see you back here in exactly 1 year for another brand new exciting episode of Top 10 Nintendo Wii Games! Until then, remember that video games are developed for the people who play them, so keep on playing and game designers will keep on developing! See you in 2010 everyone!

The Sony Playstation three and the Microsoft Xbox360 just dropped the price of their consoles to $299. First it was the PS3 and then Microsoft responded the next week with their own price cut to $299. Is the Nintendo Wii price cut next?

During the last year there have been rumors of price cuts for the PS3 and for the Xbox360. Now after all of these months, during the last week or so, these rumors have become reality. The Playstation 3 is currently is in third place in this generation of consoles, just behind the Microsoft Xbox 360 which is in second place. Sales of these two video game systems will surely spike during the coming weeks, so what about Nintendo?

The Nintendo Wii is almost three years old as it was first introduced in the United States in 2006. The Wii has never had a price cut since it has been out. The Wii is long overdue for some kind of price cut. And now that the two competitor systems have just cut their prices, now would be the perfect time for Nintendo to follow up. They’ve made statements in the past that they are comfortable with the Wii at $249, and don’t want to price cut.

Some analysts think its time for a Nintendo Wii price cut. According to this article, EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich says this regarding the Nintendo Wii:

“Essentially, Nintendo stole potential PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consumers from this hardware lifecycle three years in advance. In order to maintain this position Nintendo should drop their Wii console down to $199, not because the current Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 pricing structure poses a threat; rather, because they will eventually pose a threat. Nintendo’s strategy should be to capture as many consumer dollars as possible while their competitors are still weak in their offerings to the casual audience and price sensitive consumers.”

The Nintendo Wii has “last generation” graphics and is behind when compared to the Playstation 3 or the Microsoft Xbox360. If they want to keep their momentum, and to stay at a friendly consumer price point, in my opinion I think they should lower the price to $149. At this price point, Nintendo would probably stay number one in this console generation and sell even more Nintendo Wii systems.

This is probably wishful thinking. If any price cut is made this year, it would probably be to only $199. You need to also take into effect the cost of the Nintendo DSi system. This portable system is $169, so if they cut the Wii to $199, the Wii will only be thirty bucks more than the DSi. Would you rather buy a portable console for $169 or get their current gen console for thirty more dollars?

Taking that into account, one of two things can happen this year. There might be no price cut for the Wii. Instead Nintendo might put together some kind of special bundle package and keep the price at $249, and keep the DSi at $169. Or one other possibility. They will cut the price of the Wii to $199 (one can wish for that nice $149 price point) and then lower the price of the DSi too. They would have to, the prices are too close.

The last three months of the shopping quarter for video games is coming soon. The fourth quarter will be during the months of October, November and December. It’s during this time we should find out what will happen next with the Nintendo Wii. What do you think? What should Nintendo’s next move be?

This article will tell you how to get the letter in the original Legend Of Zelda game from Nintendo. You will need to get the letter if you want to finish the entire game. No it's not 100% necessary to get it, but with the letter, you will have a better chance of surviving the end of the game.

Wondering where the letter is in the original Legend Of Zelda game? The letter will allow you buy potions which can heal up your heart containers. With the letter, you can buy the potions and use them in the harder dungeons to ensure your survival. Follow the directions below to discover the location of the letter.

From the starting point of the game go north one screen. Now from here, go four screens to the east. Go one screen north. Next, go two screens east. Go four screens north into the rocky area of Hyrule. Now go east one screen. You should see a long staircase that leads up into the rocks to a cave. Take the staircase and go inside of the cave. Inside an old man will give Link the letter.

Now that you have the letter you can return to the shop where the old woman sells potions. Return to this shop where the potions are being sold. Go up to the woman and equip the letter. You must be sure that you have the letter equipped for this to work. Hit the B button close to the old woman. If you do this correctly, you will give the letter to her. Now you can purchase potions any time you want to.

There are two different kinds of potions in the original Legend Of Zelda game. There are blue potions, which are the cheapest and heal link up one time. The blue potion just has a one time use. There are also red potions, which are more expensive than the blue ones, and have a two time use. The red potions can be used twice to heal up Links heart containers. The red potions are great for some of the harder dungeons in the game.

This is how you find the letter in the original Legend Of Zelda game from Nintendo. This game is available for the original NES, but was most recently released for play and download on the Nintendo Wii system. You can get the original Zelda game for 500 Wii points on the download shop channel. Check out my other video game articles if you need additional help.

This article is about the new CTA Digital Wii based Bowling Ball shaped controller.

There’s a new wii bowling ball shaped controller made by CTA Digital. The controller has an infra-red diode on it so that one can use the pointer menus. The ball looks as if it is divided in half and could be cracked open. Fingers can be inserted in the controller as if it is a real bowling ball. There are plastic inserts to customize the finger hole sizes.

It also has a very sturdy looking wrist strap. This is important because the controller is heavier than your standard wii controller. This product is used in conjunction with a standard wii remote. The ball can be opened and the remote place inside. It will also accept motion plus remotes.

The only concern with this wii remote is it’s weight. As with most wii remote controllers, there is the chance of it slipping out of one hands during play. This can hurt someone or something. Usually it’s an expensive television.

How long have we been waiting? A month? Six months? A year?

Doesn’t matter, it’s here now and that’s what I’m doing with my money. For so long I have followed this rumor that has been floating around the web for a while and now I have the chance to tell you about it.

So, PS3 Slim. It’s slimmer, it’s cheaper (about 100 dollars, actually), and it’s going to do wonders for Sony. Yes, it’s still a higher price than other consoles, but now, the Wii is screwed. For sure. No, really. With Microsoft’s new Project Natal, and Sony coming out with motion controls with even more precision than Nintendo’s new MotionPlus add-on, PLUS the fact that PS3, an extremely higher quality console for only 50 dollars, they have no chance. Nintendo will be out of the game and Sony will better compete with Microsoft.

On from price, design. It’s OBVIOUSLY slimmer, but how much? 33% smaller, and 36% lighter. And this is it’s look:

http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim//2009/08/18/ps3slimback_540×185.jpg

http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim//2009/08/18/ps3slimports_540×195.jpg

http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim//2009/08/18/ps3slimside2_540×204.jpg

What’s on the inside? It comes packed with a 120 GB hard drive (almost twice the storage as its the older version, and for 100 dollars less) and a 45nm cell processor (which runs at the same speed as the old version, but is smaller and more efficient). Everything’s the same, almost. It’s the same kind of PS3, just cheaper and better. What more could you ask for?

It’s all going to run you 300 dollars, for all your dreams.

It’s all good.

Rumors have been circulating all over the Internet about an upcoming price drop for the Sony Playstation 3. Is this really going to happen?

During the year of 2009 there have been talks about how Sony really needs to drop the price of the Playstation 3. For the first time, Sony is in last place in the video game industry. Previously, they topped sales with their original Sony Playstation and then with the successor, the Sony Playstation 2.

Sony then released their third console, the Playstation 3, and it still is in third place in this console generation. The Nintendo Wii is still king at number one, followed by the Microsoft Xbox360.

What is putting the fuel to the fire for this rumor? The picture that is right here.

Take a look at this picture taken from a retail store. They have received a new sign that clearly states the 80GB version of the Playstation 3 will be reduced to $299. There have also been other rumors regarding a new model for the Playstation 3, the PS3 slim, that might be released soon. The rumors say the big announcement for the price drop, and for the new model will happen in a few days on August 18th.

Not everyone believes the rumors, and say the price drop and announcement may not happen until September. The PS3 is the most expensive of all the video game systems. If Sony wants to catch up in this console generation, the really need a price drop as soon as possible. A drop in price of $299 would put them close to the competition pricing of the Xbox360 and the Nintendo Wii.

Will this rumor come true? We should know in a few days or maybe not until when September passes by. This is exciting in that, the used prices for the console will also drop. If you are looking for a used Playstation 3 system with the new price drop, you might be able to get one for $225 to $300 on the used console market. Please listen to the consumers and drop the price Sony.

An article that explores a way of getting Free 2000 Wii Points, as well as debunking the possibility of using a Wii Points generator. Free 2000 Wii Points code.

An article explaining the possibilities of getting Free Wii Points Codes, as well as it's uses and how it'd save you money.

So if you don’t know, there’s a new way buzzing around that allows you to get Free Wii Points Codes. If you’re wondering if it actually works, yes it does, it is quite possible to get Free Wii Points, it’s easy and fairly quick. This isn’t a Wii Points Generator or anything like that, this is a real way of getting your free code. It involves the simple process of doing surveys to be rewarded, so it’s completely free on your part. Not only that, but thousands of people are doing this, literally. There are over one million members that joined the website of discussion, that helps you get your Free Wii Points Codes.

So to begin with, a 2000 Wii Points Code will cost you about $20. That is $1 per 100 Wii Points, and that’s pretty pricey to be honest. A lot of people aren’t buying the Wii Points simply because they don’t want to pay $20 for an amount that can only get you like two games off the Wii Shop Channel. That’s what makes this method so amazing, you won’t have to worry about that. Using your Free Wii Points, you’d simply be able to enjoy all the Wii Shop Channel has to offer, such as WiiWare games and Virtual Console games. These are full length games that are sure to be of your tastes, in one way or another.

The Free Wii Points Generators you see all over the internet are simply fake. There is no Wii Points Generator available that actually works. What they are is empty programs that simply randomly generates a series of digits that are made to resemble a Wii Points code. So will you be able to redeem and actually make use of this code? Nope, most people use that for scamming, which is quite illegal. Not only that, but sometimes the generators come with spyware or viruses that can harm your computer, so it’s not worth it to bother going to get one.

If you’re on the Nintendo Wii, actively looking for a way to get more enjoyment out of it, then this method of getting Free Wii Points Codes is the simplest and best thing you can do. You’re guaranteed to get a code, and this is legal and quite popular. This method was once on the news, for being a good way for kids to get their free stuff. So if you’re looking for a method to get your Free Wii Points Codes, simply look in the blog linked to above.

An excellent article written on how you can get Free Wii Points easily, for your Nintendo Wii.

The Internet has a wealth of information on most topics and questions, and some of you Nintendo Wii owners may be wonder about how to get Free Wii Points. As with most other questions commonly asked, there is an answer to this one, which is surprisingly good. There is indeed a way of getting Free Wii Points, emailed to you, easily without depending on a fake Wii Points generator. This is one of the more popular ways on how to get Free Wii Points actually, and many have done this , so read on for more information.

Generally, to get your Free Wii Points, you’d have to participate in some promotional event or a contest. Meaning, you’d have to first find out where the contest or event is, and even then you’re not guaranteed to get the code, it’s not really reliable. Contests aren’t even running all the time, so you’d still be out of luck. Some may be tempted to try those Free Wii Points generators, but those are often viruses made to take advantage of you and mess up your computer. Wii Points generators are never real, they just generate a fake convincing code, but when you try to use it, it doesn’t work. I wouldn’t recommend using one.

This method that I’m telling you about now is the best method available now on getting Free Wii Points. It’s not something that you aren’t certain to get, you get rewarded for doing a service, so you’re guaranteed the code. It’s a website that is widely used, and will reward you for doing surveys featured on their website. The rewards can be many different gaming items, but the reward of choice for this article is Free Wii Points. You will get the code sent to you by email, so it’d be able to be used easily. The reason you get rewarded for doing free surveys is because the website gets paid every time a member does a survey. So in a way to reward you, they give you points that you can use on their site. You can use these points to get prizes such as the Free Wii Points code. You can even get full games if you gain enough points.

If you’re a Nintendo Wii owner, you should definitely at least know about this method. If you haven’t known about it before, you do now, so you should keep track of this knowledge. To make the best use out of your Nintendo Wii, you will need Wii Points. So getting your Free Wii Points is the best way for you to be able to legally get your free WiiWare and Virtual Console games. Getting Free Wii Points for simply doing surveys is a very fun and rewarding thing.

Like I said before, this isn’t illegal, Nintendo knows about this method and allows it. Since the codes are actually being paid for, you’re just not the one paying. I advise you to make use of this opportunity, and start getting your Wii Points for free. There are over 1 million members on the site, so you can tell it’s worth it. If you’re wondering about what’s the most popular way you can get Free Wii Points, you’ve found it.

It’s no surprise that a lot of people are starting to let their Nintendo Wii gather dust. Nintendo themselves even said how the activity rate of all the Nintendo Wii’s out there is pretty alarming, and they are looking for a way to deal with that problem. There was a post on this blog I frequent about Making Use of The Nintendo Wii. I recommend you read that if you’re looking for ways to get extra enjoyment out of your Wii. To be honest, I believe that the Wii has the potential for endless fun, it will never get old. Read on further for more information on how people are Making Use of The Nintendo Wii.

I’m gonna say right now, I believe the key to getting the most enjoyment out of your Nintendo Wii is simply Wii Points. Wii Points gives you access to a grand library of games available in the WiiWare and Virtual Console section of the Wii Shop Channel. This basically gives you an unlimited choice of games to play at your disposal. So if you don’t currently have Wii Points available to you, I suggest you visit the Free Wii Points blog so you can read about a method on how you can get Free Wii points.

WiiWare games are a specialized category of games particularly made for the Nintendo Wii. This means that these games will most likely make use of the Wii Motion Controller and provide a more modern experience. WiiWare games can go for 600 – 1200 Wii Points. These games are very popular and successful, and Nintendo is actually focusing on WiiWare games now, opposed to the less updated Virtual Console. These games have decent (or great, depending on which game) graphics and are more innovative and engaging than most games you’ll find in the Virtuaal Console.

Virtual Console games are a specialized library of retro games, games released on previous consoles in the past years. So that should immediately tell you that these games most likely won’t be in 3d, and won’t make use of the Wii Motion Controller. But that doesn’t mean these games are bad, some of the games here are real hits worth playing. Arguably, there hasn’t been a real Sonic game since the original on the Sega Genesis. So if you want to enjoy the lighter, more simpler, games of the old days, then I recommend you play some Virtual Console games. These games can range from 500 – 1200 Wii Points. Though they aren’t like WiiWare games, these are some of my most favorite games.

So there you have it, if you’re looking for how people are Making Use of Your Nintendo Wii, then you should make use of it by taking a look at the Wii Shop Channel. The Wii still has a lot to offer, so if you’re letting your Wii gather dust, go play it and enjoy it!
