Behind every great summon there's a story.

Shiva, Ifrit and Bahamut. If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy series, you know who these 3 staple summonings are. They’ve been around since the Super Nintendo, but do you know where the name originated from? For the sake of time, I’m only touching on the most common ones.

SHIVA
In Final Fantasy, Shiva is the queen of all things cold. With her trademark special attack “Diamond Dust”, she can freeze any monster and shatter them with an unforgiving snap of her fingers. But in reality, Shiva has nothing to do with ice. In the Hindu faith, Shiva is considered the supreme god with many forms and depictions ranging from great healer to destroyer of all.

IFRIT (a.k.a. Efreet, Ifreet, Afrit, Afreet)
A short tempered Fire element creature, quick to burn anything to the ground with it’s “Hell Fire” attack! Ifrit derives from the Arabic word meaning fire djinn or genie. which makes a little more sense than Shiva when Square-Enix converted the flame caster into a flaming beast. Now it only begs the question: would Jafar had been considered an Efreet when he wished to become a genie?

BAHAMUT
The dragon king of Final Fantasy summons, Bahamut stands tall over most every other character in the game. It’s powerful “Mega Flare” deals a devastating blow to it’s enemy. But where does he come from? Interestingly enough, he’s not a dragon at all. In Arabic myth, Bahamut is actually a gigantic fish swimming in an endless sea. It carries six hells, earth, and seven heavens on it’s back.

LEVIATHAN
Leviathan was a serpent-like sea monster referred to by Judaism and Christianity. In Judaism, the Leviathan were a pair of great sea monsters, both male and female. God killed off the female out of fear because if it ever procreated, they would probably destroy the the world (or at least eat all the humans). Leviathan remained a giant sea monster in final fantasy, given the power of “Tidal Wave”.

GILGAMESH
Legend has it that Gilgamesh was demigod with superhuman strength who built a great city wall to keep intruders out. Aside from growing 4 more arms, Gilgamesh retained his super strength and is either a a powerful ally or an irritatingly strong enemy.

This guide will tell you how to defeat the boss Sinspawn Geneaux and Geneaux's Tentacle from Final Fantasy X. Use these tips and strategies to finish off this tough opponent and continue your path through Final Fantasy X.

The Sinspawn Geneaux boss has 3,000 hit points and the Geneaux Tentacle has 450 hit points. If you use the scan you can discover the secrets that can help you defeat this boss. Here are the basic strategies to defeat the main part of the boss. It has a great defense for any physical attacks you give to him and the tentacle will absorb any magic attack you try. The strategy is to defeat the tentacle first and then follow up with fire magic on the shell. The tentacle has a good defense for magic attacks and is weak to physical attacks.

This Final Fantasy 10 battle can be really tough and you can die if you don’t know what strategies to use. The main boss, the Sinspawn Geneaux has a high defense for physical attacks. If you try to use any physical attacks, you will do very little damage to him. You can fight with Valefor and he will do damage to the boss. You can fight with Valefor, or go with the suggested method with scan.

If you want to use Valefor, it is important to come into this boss battle with your overdrive completely full. When you use Valefor, have him cast the Energy Ray. If you use this magic, the tentacles will be killed immediately, and you will also do about 1,000+ hit point damage to the main boss.

Even if you don’t have your overdrive full, you can use Valefor for awhile to damage the tentacles. However, it is a lot better to go into battle with Yuna’s full overdrive skill.

If you are not using Valefor then have your three characters use physical attacks to the tentacles. You want to have characters that are strong in physical attacks. Now after you have defeated the tentacles, it is time to use magic against the main boss. This will be the job for Lulu. Use fire magic and/or other magic that you want to use against the main boss. After you have gotten several hundred hit points off of the boss, he will open up.

After Sinspawn Geneaux opens up, you can use your physical attacks against him. Now that the boss has opened up from the shell, he can use a new attack. He can cause poison on your party members. Switch to Yuna in your party when you need her, and make use of Yuna’s Esuna magic.

The Sinspawn Geneaux also can use water magic, so make use of the NulTide magic spell, to help you in this part of the battle. One other attack can hurt your party pretty good, so you will need to make use of your healing magic also, when you need it. Keep up with these strategies and you will defeat this boss in no time. If you start off with Valefor and use the Energy Ray, plus follow these other strategies that you’ve read about here, then you shouldn’t have too much of a problem finishing him off. Watch Sinspawn Geneaux closely, as he attacks in a certain pattern. He will always stay in this attack pattern if you watch closely.

This is all there is to defeating the Sinspawn Geneaux boss in Final Fantasy X. This Final Fantasy game is only available for the Sony Playstation 2 video game console. If you need help with other games, including those in the Final Fantasy world, please check out my other articles through my profile.

After you have finished going through the Marsh Cave in Final Fantasy, you will want to journey to Astos Castle along with the Crown you just received. Follow this Final Fantasy walkthrough of the Western Keep.

Now that you have defeated the Piscodemon wizards from the Marsh Cave, you now have the crown and you are ready to give it to Astos. Return to the castle and give the crown to Astos. Inside, there will be no enemies to battle, there will just be a boss battle. Before you go back to the castle, you will want to make sure your levels are high so you can win this battle. Its recommended that you put your levels at 9+ before the battle.

After you give the crown to Astos he will show his true self and the battle will begin. Astos has 420 hit points and you will earn 2,250 experience pionts after you win the battle. After you win this boss battle its possible that Astos will drop a Mythril Sword.

Astos is a powerful boss so I hope you took the advice to raise your levels, before going back to the castle. Astos has a deadly spell that can kill any character in one hit. He can use the spell Death against any character at any time. One of the best reasons to have your levels higher when you battle Astos, is that you will have the Haste spell after your levels have risen past eight. If you have a red mage or a black mage, make use of Haste.

Cast Haste on your best physical fighters. After Haste is casted, use as many physical attacks as you can against Astos. While you are putting the smackdown on Astos with physical attacks, use cure spells from the white mage or red mage. You will want to use cure spells for each round. Astos can cast spells at a level two point which means he can damage all of the characters in your party.

Are there any magic spell effective against Astos?

You can use the spell Silence to help you through this boss battle. Also, the two spells Fira and Thundara are also effective. Use this magic in combination with the other strategies and you will defeat Astos. After the boss battle is over, you will get the Crystal Eye. This item is for Matoya, so you will want to give it to her.

Get on your boat and go north toward the area where Cornelia is. Go under the bridge that the king made for you and you will discover another dock just north of there. Once you are at the dock, head north and you will find Matoyas cave. Give Matoya the Crystal Eye and she will give you the Jolt Tonic. What does this do?

Well the Jolt Tonic is supposed to wake up the sleeping prince in the Elven Castle. Take the Jolt Tonic to the Elven Castle and wake up the sleeping prince. After he wakes up, he will give you the Mystic Key. With the Mystic Key, you can open up many different locked doors. The first door you can open up is right here in the Elven Castle. Leave the castle, but stay on the area just outside of the castle.

Don’t leave the castle area, but walk around the castle. You will find a locked door. Inside four different treasure chests you will discover 1,500 gil and also the Bronze Gloves and Mythril Hammer. There are more items you can get with the Mystic Key. Stay tuned for the Final Fantasy I Mystic Key Walkthrough.

This completes the Western Keep Astos walkthrough for Final Fantasy I. The original Final Fantasy was released again for the Gameboy Advance as Final Fantasy Dawn Of Souls, and also on the Sony Playstation as Final Fantasy Origins. It was first released on the NES console. No matter what system you are playing for, this walkthrough will work for you. Some of the names may be a little different, but this walkthrough will work for you. More Final Fantasy guides are coming soon. Check out my previous articles for additional help.

Vincent is another extra character that you can recruit into your party in FF7. It is not necessary to have Vincent, but he can add more power to your party if you get him. Follow this guide on how to get Vincent in FF7.

Before you try to get Vincent in Final Fantasy 7, you must do one task first. You have to open up the safe that is in Shinra Mansion and get the key before you can get Vincent. You must do this first. You have to do this task first or else can’t get Vincent. At the safe in Shinra Mansion you will asked to enter a combination. Don’t waste you time looking for it, here is the safe combination.

The safe combination in Shinra Mansion is: “right 36, left 10, right 59 and right 97″.

While you are putting in the combination you can’t go past any of the numbers, and you must finish putting in the combination before the time limit ends. After you open up the safe, you will face another boss battle. You’ll have to beat lost number. If you want tips on defeating this boss, check out the strategies right here.

Now after you have opened the safe and beat the boss, you will get the key to the basement. Now look for a locked door that is in the tunnel, which is on your way to the library in the Shinra Mansion. Once inside of this room there will be a lot of different coffins. You want to open the coffin that is in the middle. Lo and behold inside is the extra hidden character in Final Fantasy 7, Vincent.

Vincent has been locked up inside of this coffin for a long time, so he wants to talk to someone for awhile. Talk to Vincent about Sephiroth and this will get him so excited, that he will jump out of the coffin. As he is sitting on the coffin you will talk to him about what has been happening, and Vincent gets ticked off. He is so ticked off with you that he jumps back inside of him coffin home and goes back to sleep. Don’t give up yet.

You haven’t even recruited Vincent into your team, so don’t leave the room yet. Open up the middle coffin again, until Vincent wants to talk to you again. Ask Vincent what his name is. You’re not really supposed to know what his name is at this point, since you’ve just technically met him. He will start talking to you about the Turks and Lucrecia. He will actually give you some more story points behind Final Fantasy 7, so pay attention to what he is talking about. After he is done giving you some of his backstory, leave the Shinra Mansion.

You haven’t recruited Vincent yet, but as you are walking out of the mansion, he will stop you. Vincent will ask to join you in your journey. Say yes of course, and Vincent will become a permanent part of your party. Now continue exiting the Shinra Mansion, with your new party member.

This is all you need to do to get Vincent in Final Fantasy 7. This is just one of the hidden characters from the FF7 RPG. If you want to find another character called Yuffie, take a look at this guide. It will tell you everything you need to do to get Yuffie. If you are having any other difficulties in Final Fantasy 7, check out my other guides on my profile. Thanks for taking the time to read this article.

This guide is for the original Final Fantasy game that was released from Square. This article will be for the Final Fantasy Origins version of Final Fantasy I. Follow this guide to finish the Marsh Cave.

Image via Wikipedia

This article will be for the original Final Fantasy that was released with the Sony Playstation compilation, Final Fantasy Origins. Other versions have been released, and the main gameplay is nearly identical in all versions. The first one was released on the NES in the 1980’s which started the whole Final Fantasy phenomenon.

So now you should have made it through some of the beginning parts in Final Fantasy I, and you’re located at the Marsh Cave. The Marsh Cave in Final Fantasy I is notoriously know for being extremely difficult, and it is true. For the levels you are at, the monsters are very difficult. Follow this guide to help your Final Fantasy journey.

At the beginning of the Marsh Cave, keep going north until you see a set of stairs going down. Go down the stairs and open the treasure chests that you see. You will find three items here. You will get the Broad Sword, Large Dagger and 1,300 GP. Go into the three buildings in this area to claim the items. Now return to where you were, and go all the way south.

When you go south you will discover a building that takes you to another area of the cave. Continue to go south. There are three buildings here lined up but they don’t contain any treasures. All of the three treasure chests in this room are empty. You want to make your way to the southeast corner of this room. Enter in this building that is in the southwest and make your way out the other side. Take the set of staircases.

Now as soon as you come out of this staircase, you will see a building. There is a horizontal row of buildings here, right next to each other. There are four buildings that line up horizontally next to each other throughout the room. Right now lets specifically talk about the first set of four buildings, next to the stairs you just came out of. Going from left to right, in the first building is Iron Armor. Buildings 2 and 3 are empty. Check the fourth one and you will discover that this one has 295GP. This is the last building in the first row, next to the right wall. Now lets talk about the second row of buildings here.

The second row of buildings in the room also has four buildings that are horizontally together. In the first building, on the second row, you will discover a Copper Bracelet. In building number 2 on the second row you will find an empty chest and a cottage. In buildings number 3 and 4 there is nothing to be discovered.

Some of the items in Final Fantasy have changed, but what they do is basically the same. For example, the items in the NES Final Fantasy, and then in the Playstation Final Fantasy, may not have the exact same names.

Now going on to the third row in this same room, you will find nothing in the first building as it is empty. In the second building on the third row is the Crown. In order to get the Crown you will need to fight the Wizards. In the third building is 385GP and the fourth is empty. There is another row, the fourth row of buildings. All of these are locked by the Mystic Key. You can’t open them up right now, you’ll need to return later.

What will you discover in the locked chests? Well the third one is empty, but in the others you will find a Silver Armlet, Mythril Knife and 1,020 GP. Now you need to defeat the Wizards. Here is how you do it.

I’ll tell you this on how to defeat the Wizards in Final Fantasy I. They all have a weakness to lightning. These wizards aren’t really a boss, but they are sort of a mini boss. The Wizards can be a tough opponent to beat since they can cause 100+ hit point damage to your characters. Use the White Mage to heal up your characters in the battle, while you use the Black Mage and Red Mage to cast lightning spells on the Wizards.

You can also use your strongest character to give physical attacks to the Wizards. If you keep using you lightning spells, heal up, and then use your strongest physical character to attack, you shouldn’t have a problem defeating the Wizards. After you finish the battle, you will get the Crown. This is a key item in the game. Now, make your way back outside and use a tent to heal up your party and save your game.

Now, with the Crown you will want to take your party to Astos’ Castle.

This completes the Final Fantasy I walkthrough for the Marsh Cave. If you are having any trouble getting through the cave, build up your character levels and this extra strength will help you finish the Marsh Cave. Check out my other Final Fantasy and video game articles if you are looking for additional help.

This article will take you through the Corral Valley Cave section in FF7. If you are having trouble finishing this part in Final Fantasy 7, use these tips.

If you are playing Final Fantasy 7 on the disc set from the original Sony Playstation, then you are now on the second disc. FF7 can also be downloaded from Sony through the Playstation 3, so you won’t be on a particular disc right now. In any case, this article will take you through the Corral Valley Cave.

Go to the Forgotten City, or if you are already there, then follow these directions. There will be a split in the road and you will want to take the path that is going east. Now continue following the path east, and you will go right above two different houses. By continuing to go east, you will come to a structure that is spiked. You can actually climb this spiky structure, however, don’t climb the spiky structure. There is an item that you want to find.

Walk behind this spiky structure. Open the treasure chest and you will get the Viper Halberd. Now is the time to return to the spiky structure and climb up. Now this will take you to a hole in a cliff.

Now after you have entered the hole, you are inside of a cave. You should see two different crevices going up. Go to the crevice that is furthest left and climb up this. Now you will come to a point where you can choose two different directions, left or right. You can make either decision and then go back to the crevice.

You will be faced with two different decisions again. You can choose up or down. Choose the up decision and you will get a Bolt Armlet item. Now return to the place and choose the left option.

Now continue going to the east until you get to another crevice. This crevice is close to a light that is glowing orange and you will have two different choices again. You can choose up or down. Choose down.

When you keep going down, you will jump over to a ledge. Here you will discover the Hypnocrown. Now climb back up and you will again be faced with another decision. You can go left or right. It doesn’t matter which one you choose. Choose one and get back into the fissure and head your character going up. Now when you hit the top of this point, choose the right option and you can get a megaelixir. Head back into the crevice and this time choose left. Keep heading in the left direction. You’ll see another fissure. Take it up and onto a ledge.

Now from this point you want to go west. If you keep going west you will reach a ladder and be faced with another decision. Choose the down option. Now go all the way down to the bottom of the ladder.

Here in this area you will find the Magic Plus Materia. Now go back up the same ladder you were just on and then jump off of it. You want to jump off and then go on the ladder again, so the game will give you the options again. This time go up. Go all of the way up and then go east to the wall you can enter. There will be a hole in the wall that you can go into. Go into this opening.

After you get through this there will be another cave. If you look to the east you can discover another treasure chest. Pick this up to get a power source. Don’t miss this. Go north now and follow the path. This will take you out of the Corral Valley Cave, and you will enter in the Icicle Inn.

This completes the Corral Valley Cave area in Final Fantasy 7. Here is another quick tip. In the Corral Valley Cave you will sometimes encounter the Acrophies enemy. This enemy has a Water Ring hidden that you can steal. Be sure to steal a few of them before you leave the Cave.
Final Fantasy seven for the Sony Playstation is one of the best classic RPG's from Square. Follow these tips to get through the Forgotten City in FF7.

This is the Forgotten City walkthrough for Final Fantasy 7. FF7 was originally released on the Sony Playstation and now it has been released again through the Sony download store. In the Forgotten City area, you can learn a new skill through the boss. You can learn Aqualung from Jenova Life, so don’t forget about this.

If you go north there will be a split in the road that goes three different ways. Right now ignore the other two paths and take the west route. Keep following this way until you see a building that is to the northwest. Now go inside and you will see a save point. Go ahead and save your game if you want. Don’t leave the building yet though. Take the stairs and look in a chest to find a Magic Source item.

Now go ahead and exit out of the building. Go east until you see a cave. Go inside and go down the stairs that are in the cave. After this, there will be a circular path that contains a chest. Go open the chest and you will discover the Aurora Armlet. At this point there is nothing else to do in this room, so go ahead and leave.

Now, return to the place where there are three different paths that you can take.

Go through the path that is in the middle. Continue to follow this path and you will find another building. Go inside of the building and follow the path that twists around. At the end you will find a Comet Materia. You want to get as many materia as you can in Final Fantasy 7. As you know, there are a lot of materia in FF7 to find, and this guide will help you find as many as possible.

Now you are going to want to go back to the place where the path splits into three.

This time take the path that is going east. Now as you go east, you will come to a spot where the road splits again. Head east until you discover the building that is shaped like a cone. Go inside this cone shaped building and explore your way to the top. On the top floor you can find the FF7 item Guard Source, hidden inside of a treasure chest.

Now go outside of this building and go inside the building that is just above this one. On the bottom floor in this building you will find another treasure chest that has an elixir in it. Now go up the ladder until you find a set of beds. Choose “no” to the answer, this is important. Go through the path that is curving and go to the very last bed. On the head board of this bed, look carefully and you will find another Materia. This is the Final Fantasy 7 Skill Materia.

Again, you want to choose the no answer when you first go to the beds. Now after you get the Materia, leave the house and go back inside again. Now you can choose the yes answer. You basically have to choose the yes answer, so FF7 will continue.

Now, while you are sleeping in the bed, you will wake up during the night.

Go back to the part where the path splits into three parts. Take the middle path and go back to the same building where you discovered the Comet Materia. The Fish that was in the middle of the building will now be gone, and there will see stairs there. Take the downstairs and go to the save point. After you find the save point, go and then jump across the pillars.

After jumping across the Pillars you will find Aeris. Keep hitting the circle button so Cloud will raise his sword up. Next is the boss fight with Jenova Life. Go here for a Jenova Life boss battle walkthrough.

This finishes the Forgotten City walkthrough for FF7. There are more articles about Final Fantasy 7 that I’ve written so please check out my profile if you’re looking for more FF7.

A little new detail was announced regarding the launch of the new Final Fantasy game that is set to be released in the United States sometime next year. Final Fantasy 13 will be released on the Xbox360 and on the Playstation 3.

The next Final Fantasy game is coming around the corner. It should be released next year in the United States and Square has just made another announcement. The new Final Fantasy game is going to be released both for the Xbox 360 and for the PS3. Square says both games will be released at the same time now.

The video game maker didn’t give an exact date for the release, but an announcement for the release date is expected to come out sometime in September. They previously stated that more details for the exact month of release would be coming.

Final Fantasy XIII was first revealed at E3 in 2006.

There are two other Final Fantasy XIII games being created at the same time as this one. Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Agito are two additional games in the new Final Fantasy world. The creators have stated that these games are not true sequels, but just set in the same world as Final Fantasy XIII.

This year, Final Fantasy XIII was in development for the Xbox 360. In May, the company said that the game was in the early stages. And now today, they say that the Xbox 360 version is 70% complete, according to this news article.

Stay tuned as a more specific release date will be given. Right now, officially, Final Fantasy 13 will arrive on both game systems in Spring of 2010.

The Carry Armor boss in FF7 has a large amount of hit points. If you follow these strategies you can make it through this next Final Fantasy seven boss.

There are three parts to the Carry Armor boss in ff7. There is the main part of the boss, plus the left arm and the right arm. Each part has a different number of hit points. If you’ve made it this far in this Sony Playstation RPG then you can get past this boss also.

This boss isn’t that hard, but he isn’t too easy either. His difficulty is somewhere in the middle. The Carry Armor boss has 24,000 hit points and the left and right arms each have 10,000 hit points.

When the ff7 armor boss attacks you with its arms, it will do 33% of the damage that you just did to him. For example, if you do 1,000 hit points damage to him, then his arm attack will do about 333 hit points damage back to you. And when the arms take your character, you will not be able to control him or her. On top of this, the main part of the boss will be shooting out a laser that can do 1,500 hit point damage.

When the boss uses the Lapis Laser, magic points are required. If you can eliminate the magic points, then the boss will not be able to use this weapon. Use the magic hammer on the main part of the Carry Armor boss, and you will finish off his weapon. If you don’t have the magic hammer then you should use Big Guard or MBarrier to help protect you with the Lapis Laser attacks.

If you have the slash all materia then use it. If not, follow these magic strategies.

Here are two magic spells you will want to use against this ff7 boss. Use magic breath and bolt3 against Carry Armor. When you do this, he will counter attack with 33% of whatever damage you dealt. This is where your defense magic comes in. You could also cast Regen to help heal up your characters.

If you keep using magic breath, you can defeat this boss more quickly. This spell can do a lot of damage to Carry Armor and its possible to defeat him after a few rounds of this. In addition to this and bolt3, you can also use ultima, trine or aqualung on him.

Use these tips to finish off Carry Armor in Final Fantasy 7. This classic Sony Playstation game is available in a three disc set for the original Playstation and can also be downloaded through Sony.

Use these tips to beat Proud Clod in Final Fantasy seven for the original Sony Playstation. FF7 can be easy if you follow the strategies right here.

Proud Clod in Final Fantasy 7 has 60,000 hit points and the Jamar Armor part has 24,000 hit points. This FF7 boss has two different parts and each of the boss parts will take turns to attack you. What should you do to help you win this boss battle? The first suggestion you should take is to cast Barrier & All on your party. Another good idea is to use Big Guard in the battle.

You will win this boss battle only after you have defeated the main part of the boss that has the 60,000 hit points. So does this mean you shouldn’t bother attacking the Jamar Armor part? No it doesn’t. You should defeat this part of the boss also. The Jamar Armor part of the boss will use a technique called Materia Jammer. When this is used you can’t use any of your materias. So you may want to defeat Jamar Armor first.

If you finish off the Jamar Armor first, you will also get more Gil, AP and experience points after the battle. Here are the top five magic spells that you can use against the boss that are effective. Flare, Tornado, Break, Freeze and Ultima are the best magic that you can use against Proud Clod.

You shouldn’t have too hard of a time with this Final Fantasy 7 boss. This is one of the easy ones in the game. After half of the hit points have been depleted he will kneel down. This doesn’t mean he is finished with fighting against you. He will use the beam weapon that can deal damage of 1,000 hit points.

If you casted Barrier and All, plus Big Guard, then you shouldn’t have a problem with this boss battle. These are the tips you can use to finish off this Final Fantasy 7 boss on the Sony Playstation. If you need help with other bosses, you can check out my other guides.
