Bacon’s Rant: PS3 vs. 360 vs. Wii

Well hello there, Bacon here with one of my rants. Now if you are looking to buy a new system at least hear what I have to say. The Xbox360 has the power and the games to come out ahead but it keeps losing in the Japanese market due to the lack lust of popular role-playing games and innovation, as compared to the already giants Sony and Nintendo. One mistake/good thing Microsoft did was to release the 360 before Sony and Nintendo could do any thing to corner the market.

The PS3 has the most power out of the three, has a some-what firm hold of the Japanese market, and has some of the better features out of the three. The Blu-ray player is actually causing more trouble than any good because for one the “format” wars are about to end in a tie due to LG’s new Super Blu that can play Blu-ray and HD-DVD and that the Blu-ray player is causing developers trouble thus slowing them down, pushing back release dates. Sony has been stubborn about the price of a PS3 but only now are they dropping the price from 600.00$ to 500.00$ for the US only, I think it’s too late for them. Now Sony is banking on its killer-apps and its so-called “halo killers”, we have seen none yet.

The Wii is fun, innovative, cheap, and has a firm hold on the Japanese market. The Wiimote is impractical in some homes due to the fact that some people swing their arms around as they are playing. The Wii has the least power out of the three and Nintendo targets the kids/casual gamers. At 400.00$ the Wii is the cheapest of them all and thus getting more game for the buck.
