Five Classic Games for The Atari 7800
The Atari 7800 was never the most popular of home video game systems, but that’s a shame because it had solid graphics for the 1980s and had a number of superb games worth playing regularly. Here are five of my favorite games for the Atari 7800 home video game system.
One-on-One Basketball
This game originally came out for home computers in the early-to-mid 1980s, including such systems as the TRS-80. Apparently this game was a big enough of a hit that it got ported to the Atari 7800 system. If you like playing video basketball with friends, this is the game for you.

Galaga
For near-perfect Galaga arcade action, the Atari 7800 version of this historic arcade pretty much comes through. It’s not exactly like the arcade version, but it’s darn close. Which means it’s a lot of fun to play.

Ms. Pac-Man
This arcade classic was just about as perfect as a port can be. The Atari 7800 really shines with Ms. Pac-Man, keeping the colors and gameplay quite close to the arcade version of this game. If you loved Ms. Pac-Man at the arcade, you’ll love Ms. Pac-Man on the 7800. But be prepared for a slightly faster game!

Centipede
There isn’t a better home version of this arcade classic for any of the older gaming consoles. I dare anyone to prove me wrong on this!

Basketbrawl
Yes, another basketball game! But this one is different from most. Not only can you play one-on-one or two-on-two, but you can also get into fist fights right there on the court. Exciting? Uh, yeah!
