Nintendo DS Guide/Game Reviews/R4!

My opinion/guide on the DS, some games and the all might “R4″.

As a person whom owns a DS I thought it was probably the greatest portable console you can get. Simple yet complex within its game play. With its touch screen and its thousands of games in its arsenal it makes the DS not like a Gameboy or a PSP. The DS instead takes it completely to a new complexity with variations within gameplay and makes learning even fun. Also, it’s easy to use and anyone could adjust to it easy.

Games:

Music: If you enjoy music gaming, I’d advise you to get “Elite Beat Agents”. Basically that game consists of hitting circles while listening to the beat. It takes full advantage of the touch screen, and makes Avril Lavigne bearable, almost O.O. But if you really enjoy this game, try taking it to the next level and play its brother Japanese version “Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii! Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2”. Pretty much the same thing but it’s slightly harder and as being born in Asia I find its songs much more bearable and challenging.

Multiplayer: Mario Kart! That game is probably one of the most popular games out there for DS and it’s not exactly a wonder why. Definitely a good game to get if you want to play with your friends and yes, its pretty much the same game as all its other Mario Kart games.

Classic: “New Super Mario Bros” is a great game if you loved its other class games. Similar to all its other precedents but its just as fun! Not exactly my kind of game, being you must have a lot of time, since you can’t save anytime but at certain locations.

Puzzle: Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Found this game extremely unique. It has a storyline, but what is important is its puzzles! Great game and unlike other games, it isn’t biased to required knowledge but more about inner thinking. Good game for all ages.

Other Recommendations: Zelda Phantom Hourglass: Great game, found it interesting by far, and was also fun to play with my friends (give it an 8/10).

SD Card/R4

Probably why 60% of Asian descents own a DS is because of its compatibility with an R4/SD Card. R4 is probably one of the most simplest things you can use (even a 13 year old kid like me can use it). You can buy it online or shops just Google R4 and you’ll find its website with no problem. Its package consists of the R4, USB for the Micro SD, and Micro SD Adapter, but not MICRO SD! So try to get it elsewhere, but it’s worth your time. Also, when you do get it, you’ll see it has many abilities, for it can read DS games, play music, and store files. So basically to start it out, take your Micro SD and your USB and place them together (this doesn’t really need much of an explaining, it’s obvious). If it doesn’t fit TRY AGAIN the other way, but DON’T APPLY TO MUCH PRESSURE just in case it’s the wrong way and you break your Micro SD. So when you’ve completed that, connect your USB with your any empty USB slot. When that’s done go to your computer and you’ll easily find an added link (I can’t really help you on this, but it’s quite obvious. Just click on the newly added Drive). When you click on it, you should come up with your R4. So, that’s it! If you want to download any games to your R4 just drag them in (from your hard drive or wherever you had them placed) and there you have it! Remove your USB carefully place your R4 with your Micro SD in it to your DS and when you try your next game, your R4 should make it work no problem!
