How to Update Ps3 Firmware Via PC

How to update a Playstation three using a Computer.

What you will need:

A Memory Stick (preferably 512mb or more), A Playstation 3, a Computer, Good Internet (Broadband recommended)

Step 1 – Insert your memory stick.

Step 2 – Create a folder in your memory stick named “PS3″.

Step 3 – Inside the folder “PS3″ make a folder called “UPDATE”

Step 4 – Go to this link and click on “Download Now >> “

Step 5 – Save the file into the “UPDATE” folder. (Make sure it is named “PS3UPDAT.PUP”

Step 6 – After it has finished downloading, take out the Memory Stick and plug it into your PS3.

Step 7 – From the home menu, select Settings Icon (Settings) > System Update Icon (System Update), and then press the button.

Step 8 – Select “Update via Storage Media”, and then press the button.

(The system will search for the update automatically)

Step 9 – Start the update.

Step 10 – Click “X” and let it update.

Step 11 – Confirm that the update was successful.
After the update has been completed, go to Settings Icon (Settings) > (System Settings) > [System Information]. If the [System Software] field displays the version number of the update, the update was successful.
