PSP 3000 vs. Nintendo Dsi

Comaparing PSP 3000 to Nintendo DSi.

OK these are the PSP/Nintendo dsi pros and cons

PSP 3000

Pros

  1. There UMD and download games have the best games Ive ever seen on any portable system
  2. You don’t have to pay 20-40$ a game you can just download them of the Internet no laws broken
  3. The Internet browser is fast and easy to manipulate to your convenience
  4. The music is easy to download via media manage
  5. It has a great HD screen for playing games and watching movies
  6. The PlayStation network is easy to access and plenty of downloads
  7. Skype phone is downloadable for free

Cons

  1. Its Internet receiver is not very power full you have to be about 100ft from source
  2. The UMDs can easily break
  3. The PlayStation is very slow at downloading only about 50-100KB per a second
  4. Weak battery

Nintendo Dsi

Pros

  1. Camera
  2. In-system photo shop
  3. The ability to manipulate your music
  4. Touch screen
  5. Long battery life
  6. Very tough system wont easily break
  7. Picto chat
  8. Nintendo dsi shop
  9. Internet browser

Cons

  1. 3 mega pixels is not very much in any camera
  2. Slow Internet browser
  3. Can’t download MP3 files (Cd’s,windows media player) only hard to find AAC files
  4. The in game graphics are poor
  5. Most of its games are no good i returned 80% of them after 1st week
  6. No sleep mode so the battery is always running when playing a game
  7. No way to download a phone

So each pro gives its system 1 point each con subtracts one point so PSP 7-4 is 3 while the dsi has 9-7 is 2 so my preference is the PSP 3000 another factor is each company’s experience Nintendo has been making portable systems for about 20yrs while Sony has only been going for 5yrs so if your wondering which to buy(considering they both cost the same) i would advice you to get sonys PSP.Thank you for taking the time to read this article hope its helped in your view on these two systems

Thanks for the tips, they were really helpful. I haven’t been playing games latey and now i am starting to get interested in them again. i am thinking about getting a psp due to the fact i can listen to music, watch videos, go on the internet, and play games on the go sounds Great! And plus there are a lot of cheaper games for the psp now, i am going to give it a try.

Regarding number five for cons in the DSi, the DSi has great games. You just need to know what they are. Most DS games are geared towards the casual gamer, but a few (Mario, Legend of Zelda, etc.) are some of the best games ever to come to a handheld system.

Regarding number six for cons in the DSi, it does have a sleep function. You just close the DSi, and it goes to sleep. This consumes very little battery life.

More importantly, you shouldn’t compare two gaming systems based on the extras they give you. Nintendo’s been in video games for fifteen years longer than Sony. Fifteen years is quite a bit of experience. Judging a gaming system by its non-game-related elements (which make up almost all your pros and cons for both systems) is like judging a book by the type of paper it uses. It just doesn’t make sense.

I believe that the choice between a DSi and a PSP is in the type of games that a person likes. If the buyer is more of a casual gamer and doesn’t really care much for graphics or first-person shooters, but prefers RPG’s, platformers, puzzle games, or other less hardcore games, then the DSi is the way to go. If a person views graphics and intense, hardcore games as more important than the types of games Nintendo produces, then the PSP is better than the DSi.

I agree with Dan, personally I will go for the DSi for the games, and that touch screen as well.

I have the DSi and very happy with I USED to have a psp but the screen broke. Wasn’t happy with the PSP, thought it was stupid but like the fact that it was easier to put music on. About the price cost a new psp costs almost $200 the DSi costs $169.99 plus 1000 free points for the DSiware shop. The psp comes w/ 0 dollars. To me a DSi is the way to go. Like said before Nintendo has more experience, and personally I never had a problem with nintendo but with sony 5 problems with customer service. Not happy with sony.

Haha ty for making me laugh….it only has graphics and shooter games with no plot and a rly bad dameplay not to mention the story line.dsi is selling 3 times better than psp now. Dsi is the best portable gaming device now.psp is a multimedia device and if i wanted a multimedia device id buy an ipod.dsi is cracked now you can play the best title games ever for free with an r4i card that costs 25-50euro
