Two Games That I Would Love to See Remakes of
Everyone who’s been a gamer long enough knows that as consoles are replaced by a newer and faster generation, companies tend to re-release games for their newer generations.
Like Nintendo remade The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the 3DS or how Microsoft and Bungie reskinned Halo: Combat Evolved, there are some games out there that I believe merit a remake for a newer console. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a timeless classic that was released in Novemeber of 1998. While it’s been a while since 1998, this game continues to captivate old and young gamers alike. With the 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time, the generation of gamers that came much after 1998 can finally know why people have made such a big deal about the re-release of a game that was only playable by those who kept their Nintendo 64 console or used an emulator on a PC to play.
While I have played and enjoyed these games in their original or remade form, they are not the only games that I hold dear and often find myself reminescing about. Up until a few years ago, I often found myself wishing that Nintendo would make a remake of Pokemon: Gold so I could relive they joy that the game had brought me. Not long after that, Nintendo released Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver for the DS. But there are many other games from my childhood that I wish could become remakes.
1. The Legend of the Dragoon (Playstation)

This game was probably one of the longest games that I had ever played and I relished every moment of gameplay. The game was originally released for the Playstation in 1999 (Japan), 2000 (North America) and 2001 (Europe). The story is about a young man and his quest for revenge on the monster that killed his parents. While on his journey he teams up with various individuals that help him obtain more information about the monster and solve the mystery of the mysterious “Moon Child” and “The Moon That Never Sets.”
Things that I would like if the remake is made:
- HD graphics
- Boss rush mode
2. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages (Gameboy Color)

Two games released by Nintendo on the Gameboy Color, following in the Footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Link’s Awakening DX. In Oracle of Seasons the player must rescue the oracle of seasons, Din, from Onox, the General of Darkness by traveling through dungeons and collecting essences to restore balance to the land of Holodrum. In the Oracle of Ages, the player must save Nayru, the Oracle of Time, from Veran by collecting essences to break Veran’s curse on time and saving the land of Labrynna. After the player finishes either game, they are given a password that will allow them to start a new game in the other version and will allow them to start a new game where characters give the player passwords that unlock special items that they can teak over into the first game as well as use in the second. Once both games have been cleared, the player will face Twinrova and Ganon as an added bonus to the games.
Things that I would like if the remake is made:
- Single cartridge/download that contains both games (Possibly 3DS or DSi game)
- Elimination of the password system
- Updated graphics
- Touch controls for the Magic Boomerang and Seed Shooter
