Next Xbox and Playstation Four to be Revealed at E3 This Year?

Could the future of gaming be upon us?

Rumors flooded the internet when reports came out claiming that the next Xbox and PlayStation 4 would be revealed at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) this June at Los Angeles.  Nintendo was already expected to reveal more information about the Wii U such as launch games, price, and launch date.  Nintendo had labeled this reveal as a “re-reveal” for the console.  It is not surprising to see Microsoft and Sony preparing for a reveal of their next gen consoles.  They do not want Nintendo to gain any momentum to give them a competitive advantage.  After the huge success of the Wii, Microsoft and Sony will do everything in their power to overshadow Nintendo’s momentum.

As far as the next Xbox is concerned, there’s been numerous rumors circulating about what features the console will have.  Patents show that it’s possible for the console to have a build in DVR function, and other reports make claims involving tablets and Windows 9 services.  From what I have heard, all three companies will make a bigger push on services and features, rather than graphics processing power.  There has also been talk about Microsoft considering to bring Blu-ray capabilities to their new console.

It’s been reported that Nintendo plans to show off the Wii U behind closed doors at CES, and the next Xbox may even make a brief appearance.

Are you ready for new consoles from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo?  Or do you feel that they are launching new consoles way too early?  Drop a comment below and tell me what you think!

I doubt Xbox will release a new console this year and even if they do decide to upgrade on the aging 360, it’ll be at least a furter 12-24 months untill the new Playstation gets released due ti the PS3 being a much newer console than the 360!

Hope the new 360 has a huge gpu upgrade as the new gen gaming should be based on full high def resolution. maybe a 2gb graphics card? maybe 2 2gb graphics? Maybe with a high powered version of the i7, or a dual i7 system with full hyperthreading capabilities? An inbuilt hard drive would be better and no less than a terabyte, and high speed 10.000rpm and no less. They should look at the most powerful PC desktop gaming rig available under 20 grand, and duplicate that power in the compact confines of a console, with water cooling even. After all the damn console needs to hold up for 5-7 years into the future.

Gone are the days when we should put up with anything but realism in how a game looks and feels. That high quality experience should be available at a very high framerate, with no loading times between gameplay and saving.

    Awesome little article nevertheless :)
