The Game music genre has come a long way, games like Parappa the Rapper for the orignal Playstation started this genre, however it is rare to see it credited for what it truly deserved. Now games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero top the charts selling millions of units in each iteration. While usually not much differs between each sequel, does the beatles ‘Get Back’ to quality games.

Anyone who has played any of the Guitar Hero or Rock Band games should know that the games play as follows: Use Plastic Instruments to hit the notes shown on screen (unless you’re singing of course) and watch a random group of rockers on stage performing what you play. Wash, Rinse, and repeat. The lack of unique backgrounds in the previous iterations are just plain boring, and for a party game those that are watching could easily lose interest. Thankfully the people of Harmonixed decided to break this cycle.
For the Beatles earlier songs performances will be played at the Historic Cavern Club, The Ed Sullivan Show, Shea Stadium etc. These are all historically accurate places the band performed in it’s career. Some might ask the question “half the Beatles’ career was in solitude at Music Studios, how would Rock Band that interesting?”

The later songs will start out in the studio, but progress to amazing Dream-Scapes as shown in the image above. Not only does it look amazing, but each song has its own unique and imaginative vision. Even on the Wii Version these backgrounds will stun you (which is quite a feat for the graphical limitation on this lil’ guy). The Beatles songs are brought to life in these visual masterpieces that will entertain any players or onlookers. Quick Note: A few of the later songs do not have dreamscapes and instead are performed on the Beatles historic concert on the Abbey Road Studio’s rooftop.

Lastly lets talk about the most important feature of these games. the party aspect. While the Guitar Hero games have tried to compete with the Drum and Singing aspect of Rock Band, Beatles shows that Rock Band not only focuses on aesthitically pleasing performances, but each instrument works flawlessly. The Microphone indicator seems to be one-to-one with the singing, you dont need to pound the drums like in the previous games to get them to be recognized, and guitar works just as good as always. But wait- There’s More! Now up to 3 people can sing at once and it works just great!
Beatles’ Rock Band features 45 songs of varying difficulties and tons of unlockable photos and never before seen videos that will make it worth it to play any song over and over again to perfect your skills.
