The Future of Gaming is Scary…take Me Back!

A rant about how gaming is getting scary, and how I want to go back to the games from my past.

The only thing that’s stuck with me since a kid has to be video games, and I wonder. Where is the industry heading?

With Project Netael for the 360, a pulse-sensing…thing for the Wii, and a knock-off Wii remote for the PS3, as well as the DSi and the PSgo, it’s as if everyone is pulling and tugging in every direction imaginable.

I miss the good old days, when it was just sitting down, playing games, and relying on real life, in person friends to find joy.

But now where is this generation going, and why do I feel like I must join them?

They rely on playing “over the net.” No more playing with people in the same room. And after, they turn off their systems, even though they’re still technically on, and forget about P2 to P32.

but at the same time, video games have become so extravagant, that we’re just one or two video game conventions from hearing about full-on 3-D games; games were all we will have to do is sit down, put on a helmet, and push some buttons for something so life-like, that it is scary.

I don’t know about you, but the next system I am getting is an NES or a Gennises. Sure, my Wii, 360, PSP, and DS are fun, but I would like to go back to simpler times, when the biggest challenge was collecting rings, rescuing princesses, and blowing into the game to make it work.
