The Last Story is Last Big Game for Wii

Finally, Nintendo has confirmed The Last Story will be coming to North America later this year, although Nintendo has not given a more specific release date. However unlike in Japan and Europe, Nintendo of America will not be the publisher for this amazing epic Wii RPG.  Instead, Nintendo is handing the North American publishing leaving duties to xSeed Games. The Last Story is directed by the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi. The Last Story can stand as a modern, example of the direction the JRPG genre can go in the future.  Nobody would have expected that the Wii would be home to RPG’s such as Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story.  However 2012 for the Wii has been the year of the roleplaying genre.  Could The Last Story be the last great game for the Wii before the Wii U launches worldwide?  It seems very, very likely.  But The Last Story sure would be a great way for the Wii to go out in style.  Also, Xenoblade Chronicles is still waiting to be released in North America, which is something everyone should look forward to.

In Europe, the game is already being localized and ready for launch in that region.  British voice actors were involved in the voicing of the game.  For some people, it might seem strange to see British voices mashed together with Japanese look characters, but it seems to work decently.

The Wii might be coming to the end of it’s life, but there are still plenty of new games coming for it this year.
