The PS4 Could be Just Around The Corner, with a Release Date of 2012
Despite the fact that Sony said they wouldn’t launch their new games console until 2016, there are facts and rumors hinting that the PS4 could hit the market as early as next year.
Originally, Sony stated that the PS4 won’t be released until 2016 and that they didn’t want to launch any new consoles until 2014. But now that the new Wii is to be released and the XBox 720 is supposedly already in the hands of developers, we could be seeing the PS4 sometime soon.
Nevertheless, Sony said that the launch of the new Wii won’t affect the PS4, which seems likely since the new Wii won’t be a huge step forward for today’s consoles, but rather Nintendo catching up with Microsoft and Sony in the graphics world.
Further rumors about Sony’s new console make an early release date even more likely. Information has been leaked – Sony have ordered 20 million Playstation4 consoles to be manufactured between this and next year. However, the fidelity of this information is questionable, as DigiTimes won’t reveal its source. Moreover, there are rumors that Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft have made a deal not to release a new console until 2013. But then again, its just a rumor.
