Wii U Compatible with Gamecube Games!

It has been a well pointed fact that usually current generations of consoles can be compatible with their previous ones. And that is true for the upcoming Wii U that is going to be retro compatible with the Wii. Nevertheless, the big news is that Wii U will also have compatibility with the Nintendo GameCube!

According to an interview done with the responsibles for Nintendo of America, the new upcoming console will be compatible with several GameCube titles, although not by optical disc, but instead via download using the service Wii Ware.

Currently the Wii has the same online option market and it’s possible to download several games from different ages and years to the current console. Now it seems that the service will continue into this new system, adding it to another popular console of Nintendo.

Gamecube has several classics like Pikmin, Wave Race Blue Storm, Pokemon Coliseum, Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and Super Smash Bros Meele.

Hopefully all of them will find their way to the Wii U.
