Wii U Version of Aliens: Colonial Marines Easy to Make Claims Gearbox Producer
In an interview released on Friday, a producer from Gearbox Software says moving Aliens: Colonial Marines to the Wii U wasnot much of a chore.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Gearbox senior producer Brian Burleson reiterated some of whatpresident Randy Pitchford had to say about the Wii U but also added on what it is like to develop on Nintendo’s next console.
“[Creating the Wii U version] has been pretty easy,” he told Eurogamer. “The Wii U is a powerful, powerful machine and it can do a lot of cool new things. And so the game itself, moving it over to work on the Wii U was not much of a chore.”
We’re sure that is good news for developers as the generation of consoles was marked by studios finding it diffuclt to port games from the Xbox 360 to the Playstation 3. They eventually figured out it was easier to develop for the PS3 first before moving it over to Microsoft’s console.
“Now the interesting thing is finding out all the cool ways you can use the controller to do new stuff with it,” Burleson continued.”You can imagine all the cool things we can do, with this franchise and having a thing with you, right?”
Burleson was unable to talk about the much rumored specs for the Wii U saying, “Actually nailing the specs, they haven’t come out with them yet.” However, he agrees with Pitchford that the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines will be the best looking out of all the consoles because of “more modern tech.”
