Zumba The Game a Great Work Out for All The Family
With the spread of the Zumba workout being rolled out accross the globe I have been looking at how the computer game shapes up. Zumba the game is currently available on the Wii, Xbox and PS3 and uses motion technology to get you in the latin groove.
I currently own a copy of Zumba the game on the Nintendo Wii console, which I have had since it was released in the UK back in April 2011. Originally the game was purchased for my wife as she wanted to give it a go and it allowed her the opportunity to work out as and when she had some spare time. She absolutely loves Zumba the game and uses most nights, and as a result has achieved some fantastic results in respect of getting back into shape after having our two daughters.
Mind Zumba the game hasn’t just been a hit with my wife, it has become a hit with the whole family especially my two daughters who are 2 and 4. They both love dancing around the lounge with their mum and really get into the music and spirit of the game.
This got me thinking is it just my little ones who love this game or is this something that other parents could use to help keep their children active and fit. I have several friends with children, who also have a copy the Zumba game and they have all found the same as us, the kids love the game and the music and just dance along with their parents as they work out.
For me I think this is great as there has been a serious rise in child obesity in the last few years and this is partly down to things such as junk food and computer games, but with this new generation of more active gaming I hope we will start to see computer games become part of the solution not the problem when it comes to keeping our children active and fit.
We need more games like Zumba for our homes as they are great fun for all the family, some thing you can do together on those wet days when the kids can’t go out and play. It keeps them fit and active, as well as entertained and everyone can play no matter what level they are at.
All children need exercise and activities to keep them entertained and moving. Sitting in front of a television and playing video games is not a healthy habit. Parents need to step up and be responsible and incorporate good habits in daily routines.
I see people on Facebook mentioning it.
Great.
