Writing is a full time career for a lot of individuals. Regardless of if they are writing for a directory, database, blog or website – writing is pretty much all they do. One of the biggest struggles that writers are faced with is coming up with topics. This is particularly difficult for individual who are writing for a blog, because a blog typically focuses on one niche/topic. So, it is necessary to pick a niche that is both interesting and broad. You need something that gives you a lot of different directions you can go in – while still keeping the reader interested in the topic. 

For example, video gaming can be a great topic for someone to focus on for a short or long period of time. Video gaming is an extremely broad topic because you can explore both various video games and you can explore the different gaming consoles. You can talk about history or you can write reviews. You can also research and write popularity related articles and blog posts. Furthermore, you can go into computer gaming which opens a whole new window of things to write about. There are so many different genres of video games and computer games – that the topic supply really is endless. 

Obviously, video gaming is not the only option out there in terms of writing topics. However, it is a great place to get started.
