XBox 360 vs. PS3

Games

It is clear to all that the Xbox 360 has a wider exclusive range of games than the PS3 and due to public votes the 360s games are much more popular than the PS3’s. Games like Halo 3, Gears of war 2 and mass effect are big titles for the 360. Some of the PS3’s big titles are: Killzone 2 and Little Big Planet.

Style

The PS3 no doubt has style with it’s sleek black finish but many complain about it’s style and resemblance to a grill. The Xbox 360 has many different colours with it’s black Xbox elite and it has many consoles like Halo box and Gears of War limeted edition console. The PS3 has 2 more versions: white and silver but they are outnumbered and ‘out-styled’ by the 360s versions.

Features

In this category the Xbox 360 cant yet compete with the PS3’s Blu Ray feature and ability to connect with PSP. Although the 360 can play standard DVDs it can’t play blu ray disks. But with Sky, Facebook, Twitter and Zoosk coming to the 360 soon the PS3’s Blu Ray won’t be enough to put the PS3 on top and the 360 will gain another win. But for now the PS3 has the best features.

Price

With the Premium Xbox 360 in stores for £120 and the Elite £220 the P$3 towers over by £400. Even with Blu Ray this is far too much. Xbox live may cost £30 but you can but a Premium Xbox 360, over 3 years of Xbox live and a good game like Gears of war 2 and 1 PS3 will still cost more. Another point to the 360.

Sales

With the Xbox 360 having sold 30.20 million units worldwide (as of March 31st 2009) and the PS3 having sold 22.73 million units worldwide (as of March 31st 2009) the 360 has sold more units. some argue that the 360 has an advantage of a 1 year headstart but it the 360’s first year it sold more that double the PS3’s sales on its first year.

This battle goes to the Xbox 360 but the war is far from over. The PS3 is no longer a newcomer and has no excuse for losing any battles but the PS3 will see the light someday. If you see any mistakes please feel free to correct me and i hope you enjoyed this article as it is my first one.
