Xbox 360 vs. Ps3

The gloves come off. What side are you on?

It’s 2009, of course, and the days of lack-luster graphics and horrible camera angles are over…Sort of.

This article is not at all trying to be biased, but I found that it’s hard no matter what I do to lean towards one side. The PS3 VS Xbox 360 war has been going on for a long time now. What console has better games, what console has better graphics, these questions are often asked and long hearted fanboys fight and verbally beat eachother day by day on these debates. Wanna know my opinon? I love games. Simple right? Yes. Well, in a sense.

Games nowadays have becoming more entertaining than ever, and with technology, they’ve become more real. I love games and that’s it. Whatever side has the games, I’m there. I need to be trapped in a moment to escape my own reality for a bit. Thats not what this is about though…

I love the Xbox 360, there is no denying that. The PS3 is indeed a powerful machine, and with the advancements they are making, I just may change my mind. We all know Sony and Microsoft have their own Pros and Cons, and things are about to heat up. With both companies releasing some big boy toys (Microsoft’s Project NATAL and Sony’s captivating, Wii-like Motion controller) I can only expect great things for the future.

Sale-wise, the Xbox 360 has been selling well at a decent pace leaving Sony behind in the dust. After the recent E3 in Los Angeles this year, Sony’s chart has started to spike a little. The God Of War 3 trailer, as well as the new motion sensing bit may really have helped. This only gets me excited. With Sony’s back to the wall, they need to pull off some big punches to stay in the game and win a round.

E3 this year has proved to be exciting for gamers. A little late for that statement because if you’re a gamer and you’re reading this, you know my joy. Each console has their own software/hardware capabilities, and their own differences.

A major selling point is obviously: The pricing. With the Xbox being over 100 dollars less than the PS3, that could have a lot to do with the chart showing the Xbox muscle. Then again, the blu-ray/HD war did set Sony back a few…uhm…million dollars.

Nintendo is being left out of this conversation because they just keep reinventing the war almost every year for the past few. Without them, we wouldnt even be discussing these two giants of the gaming/entertainment industry.

But what do you think? Do you think Sony can shift into overdrive and overpass Microsoft? Or do you think the Xbox will continue to show its dominance, with greater online play and interactivity?

But what do I know? I’m just Sean Johnson, writing an article that will be outdated once its published. Are you a fanboy?
