“Doom Three BFG” Edition Announced for This Fall and Detailed
“Doom 3″ originally launched way back in 2004. It seems so far away, yet so near, that fans were experiencing a “Doom” game that was on par with graphic capabilities at the time. I finally had the chance to play through ” Doom three ” back in 2009, and even five years later the game is still great.
Since 2004 the game has seen a release on the original Xbox and PC. So unless you bought the big black box way back in the day or had a decent PC, you may not have gotten to play ‘Doom 3′. Good news though, as this morning id Software announced ‘Doom 3 BFG Edition’ , and it’s packed to the gills with ‘Doom’ goodies. ” Doom 3 BFG Edition ” not only brings ‘Doom 3′ to the Xbox and Playstation 3, but it includes the expansion ” Resurrection of Evil ” expansion pack and a few new levels called “The Lost Mission”.
That’s not all though, as Doom 3 is getting a bit of an upgrade. Achievements/Trophies are being added, along with 3D support forthose with the TVs able to push out 3D. An entirely “new check point save system” is being put into the game, along with “the new armor-mounted flashlight”, meaning you don’t have to constantly bring your flashlight up to see what the heck is going on. But that still isn’t all. Along with all of this, they’re giving us ‘ Doom ‘ and ‘ Doom 2 ‘. Now mostpeople won’t care, since they played the ‘Doom’ games years (we’re talking almost twenty yearsnow), but personally I’ve not played ‘Doom 2′ in a long long time. I’ll be picking this one up, considering how packed it is with content. I know fans are clamoring for ‘Doom 4′, but it’s just not happening yet. ‘Doom 3 BFG Edition’ is on track for a Fall release on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 , but no firm date has been set.
