Price Points: Playstation Three( Ps3) vs.. Xbox 360

While the Xbox 360 Arcade unit my seem cheaper, it is in fact a marketing scheme.

The recent release of the 300$ PS3 has caused the Xbox 360’s sales to slow a considerable amount. While the 2008 Xbox 360 Arcade Unit is still 199$ why is one system selling better. Here are some details to consider, This is a comparison of the 120 GB PS3 Slim and the 256 MB arcade unit.

Thus we can see that if you want a Microsoft Xbox 360 with WiFi Internet will cost you approximately 380$, also low memory in the arcade unit causes most users to purchase a 50$ Xbox 360 Hard Drive. Thus we can see that Sony’s 120 GB System is not only cheaper in the end, but also has more memory and Blu Ray Support, that allows you to both play Blu Ray Movies and better quality games (as they are stored on the disc).

With a more shooter oriented Library the 360 loses its family appeal, while Sony’s diverse library speaks for itself.

By viewing this chart anyone can see that unless you want to play Halo, than Sony is the more logical and economic choice.

Although that is a way to look at why it is people buy the PS3 more than the XBOX360. But i wouldnt say that is the reason why people are buying more PS3’s now.

There are two reasons people didnt buy the PS3 in the first place:
    1. It was too damn expensive lol
    2. There were almost NO games for it at all.

And people bought the 360 because it has a number of versatile games and it was 1/3 of the cost of a PS3 (for the arcade unit atleast)
