10 Most Overrated Computer Games
Here is my personal opinion on the 10 most overrated computer games ever made.
Just going to start off with some notes: Just because a game is on this list doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just means it’s overrated. It might be a very good game, but it is not as big as it is hyped up to be. Also, this is purely my opinion, so please feel free to disagree.

This game was incredibly over hyped and was a major let down. Luckily, future versions of the game were much better.
This game I bought the day it came out, despite having to fight with my parents a lot to get my hands on it. It was a very good game, but it really was not as good as it was made out to be. It wasn’t revolutionary, the graphics were pretty terrible, and the game wasn’t as big and good as it was made out to be (you couldn’t enter 10% of buildings, let alone most, like they had said).
This game was decent, but extremely short. The only really fun feature of this game was the split-screen multiplayer, but for some reason they removed this from the PS3 version of the game. Why, I’m not sure, but probably because of the widespread use of PS3 Online.
This game was very good, yes, but it wasn’t as good as we were told it would be. It wasn’t groundbreaking, it wasn’t phenomenal. The graphics, I love them, but the gameplay, not so much. This game was good, but massively overrated. It wasn’t the “Game of the PS3”, just another decent title.
Halo is not a bad series, please don’t get me wrong. It’s good, infact, it’s very good. But it is not as good as it is made out to be. I wouldn’t even consider paying $300 for an Xbox 360 to get Halo 3 (I do have an Xbox 360 though, but not Halo 3).
This game can’t even be classed as fair or average. It was absolutely terrible. A friend of mine got it the day it came out, and I played it for 5 minutes before saying “this sucks”. I think Enter The Matrix is the only game that I have actually vowed never to play again.
There is a reason this series is called TOMB Raider, and it really should never have left the tombs of old. At least the developers learnt their lesson and quickly went back into the tombs.
This game was incredibly overrated, and generally dull. If I wanted to play a real game, I’d buy Gears of War. Steer clear of this game, although it’s not terrible (like Enter The Matrix), it is not good either.
This game is just terrible, especially when you’re older than 8 years old. The only good thing about this game is the laughter factor, which, while extremely strong, is also extremely short.
I know it doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the games on this list (all the others were available on consoles), but this game is so bad it deserves a special spot on this list. How can any game be worth $150+ per year, let alone one as fundamentally flawed and boring as this game. Please don’t ever play this game.

you continue to disappoint me greyan storm. why waste your time ranting about games you havent played? i have read other rants of yours and the other one you say you beat halo 3, thats exceedingly possible IF YOU DONT HAVE THE GAME???? what is wrong with you, and what point are you trying to get across. We know you hate video games because you have listed some of the most popular and successful ones on the market. Every game you have listed is good. and world of warcraft? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? there are currently 11 million people playing that game right now… FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED? BORING? DONT PLAY IT? you need help my friend. the only faulty thing about wow is its community of snobby people. the game is good. please stop talking about what you dont know.
Read the title. He’s not saying these games are bad games, just that they were overrated. I agree with him on pretty much every game here. It’s an unfortunate side effect of reviewing, they usually do overrate games. Oblivion, GTA IV aside, game reviewers don’t always get it right. I’ve played and enjoyed loads of games that get low ratings and I’ve hated and found loads of games boring that have gotten 9/10.
Halo is NOT as good as the fanboys claim. It’s a good game, but it’s not the best. COD4 is far better, graphically and entertainment wise.

I must say that I played FF7 much later than it was released so I can’t really comment on the graphics part because I don’t know what were the standards for that time, and when I did play it, the graphics were more-less terrible, and probably some other (more gameplay related) aspects too, but I must admit that I pretty much enjoyed the game despite all that. while the storytelling could be seen as very confusing and unclear at some points, the overall story is quite good with a lot of twists and turns. and I think that if you managed to connect well with the characters, you could have a great gaming experience even if you play it now in this era of gaming.
as for it being overrated, I don’t really thing the game itself is overrated rather the whole franchise such as advent children and all that stuff that came AFTER the game itself.

There is no rational reason to critizise your point of view. But if you want to share your opinion with the Inet-Community, you should find more arguments than “wasn’t good” or “didn’t look/play/smell like announced”. A little more content in general or even any indication for you having a deeper understanding and nobody will really complain.
