A Video Game Worth More Than Your Car

There are a few rae video games worth quite a bit of money. This one is worth thousands.

Some people are very passionate about collecting video games. They have hundreds in their collection. A few are worth quite a bit of money. But can a video game be worth more than your car?  It is if you have this particular one in your possession.

In 1984, a company called Menavision created their one and only game for the Atari 2600 called Air Raid. The video game market decline of the early 1980’s was dramatically affecting home consoles by this time and Menavision quickly went out of business. Very few copied ever made it to the general public.

The cartridge is distinguished by its light blue color and T-shaped handle. The label has a picture of spaceships attacking a city. Its one of the few games with no name on the label. There are less than 20 copies of this game known to exist.

The value of this game is nothing short of astounding. The cartridge alone has sold for $2000 – $3000 in recent years. There are no known pictures of the box or instruction manual. No one has ever come forward with proof of the existence of these items. There are rumors that the game was released in a gatefold box but this has not been confirmed. Experts have estimated that a mint copy of Air Raid with the box and instruction manual could sell for $10000 – $20000.

Keep your eyes open for a blue T-shaped cartridge. It just might pay for your next car.
