Accelerometer Games for Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch

Accelerometer games are one of the hottest trends in the world of cell phones and Pocket PCs. Here are some suggestions for Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch phones.

You’ve probably already noticed that motion sensing software is a widespread trend on the iPhone world. What about the Windows Mobile world? Like with the iPhone, there’s a high number of devices sold with Windows Mobile worldwide, but it has always been more business-oriented than consumer-oriented and it still “suffers” from that stigma when it comes to consumer entertainment software.

Shake It Like You Mean It

But, thanks to the efforts of brands like Samsung and HTC, things are slowly changing. The families of Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch Pocket PCs are really bringing some fun to an otherwise dull OS. If you own one of these phones that have the accelerometer feature you will be happy to know that there are already some amazing accelerometer games you can download and use on your Samsung Omnia or HTC Touch. So, without further ado, here are some of the best accelerometer games around for the Samsung Omnia i900, Samsung Omnia i910 Verizon, Samsung Omnia 2 i8000, HTC Touch HD, HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Diamond 2.

Resco Bubbles

My number one recommendation has to go to my favorite accelerometer game – Resco Bubbles. This game has got to be the most amazing accelerometer game I’ve played. Resco Bubbles has a really simple concept: you have a metal ball on a board and some bubbles with numbers. You must tilt your phone to control the direction and speed of the ball and bust the bubbles sequentially. Really simple but a lot of fun – for real! Some extra features like different surfaces that change the ball’s behavior and bombs that will make you lose control keep this accelerometer game fun and challenging along all its 60 levels. And the graphics are really beautiful and detailed.

Marble Worlds 2

Marble Worlds 2 is another great accelerometer game and, like on Resco Bubbles, you control a ball’s speed and direction by tilting your phone. But the similarities end right there, because on Marble Worlds 2 you will be guiding your ball through beautifully designed lands, filled with mazes and puzzles to cross. Really creative concepts like bounce pads, air blowers, jet holes and exploding bombs keep this accelerometer game exciting and ensure an addictive gameplay. Marble Worlds 2 includes 100 play areas across 5 different themed worlds.

Super Sid

Super Sid is yet another great accelerometer game from the developers behind Marble Worlds, but this one borrows the concept from the classic game PacMan – and right there you have a winner. On Super Sid you control Sid, a robot in charge of cleaning the world from toxic waste while dodging the rogue security robots that chase him. This game has great accelerometer support so you will guide Sid throughout the multi-leveled 16 stages by tilting your phone. Super Sid has great graphics and – like good old PacMan – addictive gameplay.

So there you have it – a small selection of great accelerometer games for the Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch Phones. Enjoy!
