Call of Duty 2

A review on the World War II video game by Infinity Ward.

This game is the third installment on the Call of Duty series, after the original Call of Duty and Call of duty: United Offensive. It is a great first person shooter game based World War 2. The game features multiplayer and singleplayer game modes. As well as support for mods.

Singleplayer on Call of Duty is quite fun, though very short. The total gameplay time for singleplayer on this game is only 5-7 hours. Basicaly you walk through the different levels based on battles from World War 2 shooting the Germans to pieces with your fellow soldiers. You must first complete the campaign as the Russians to move on to the British and American campaigns. Each campaign only consists of 3 different levels, hence the short singleplayer run through time. You can also pick up weapons from dead Germans.

The multiplayer aspect of this game is what really makes it great. It features support for mods and player-made maps, as well as nearly all of the singleplayer maps. Unlike singleplayer, you can play as the Axis using the German weapons such as the Gewher 43, Stg 44 (though called the MP-44), and the Kar98k. Other weapons featured in this game include the BAR, or Browning Automatic Rifle, the Lee-Enfield, The Thompson sub machine gun, the Sten sub machine gun and the Bren light machine gun. The maps are exiting and you can prone, crouch, and look down the sights to knock out the enemy.

Overall, I give this game an 8/10 for multiplayer gameplay and great cost. (This game only costs 20$ and you can buy it from steam OR Best Buy.) If you want to play a great online WWII FPS without spending too much money, this is the game for you!
