Call of Duty Nazi Zombie – Der Riese Strategy
This strategy, although not as effective as the Shi No Numa strategy, will get you to a relatively high level.
This nazi zombie map, in short, is awesome. I thought it would be hard to beat Shi No Numa, but this completely outdoes any previous zombie map. Note: This has only been out for a short while, and I’ve only played it a few times, but I have a strategy that works well (got up to level 18 with my friend on my first time playing the map). It won’t be as detailed as my previous Shi No Numa article , but I have come up with a plan that works fairly well.
This Strategy is for any combination of players, although it was designed by playing it with 2 players.
Beginning Levels (1-4):
When you first start out on Der Riese, you will notice a machine behind you. If you look closely, you will notice it is the pack-a-punch machine (PaP from here on out). This machine, when activated, upgrades your guns, making them hold more ammo, do more damage, etc. But more on this later.
As usual, there are 4 windows you must guard – 3 above ground and 1 in a subway-like stair entrance. There isn’t too much to tell about these levels. The gewehr is on the center stage (where the PaP is) wall, near one of the doors you must open. For these levels, just get a gewehr or a karsk98k, whichever you prefer. Try to rack up as much money as you can- you’ll need it for later levels.
After level 4 ends you should go open one of the two doors. I prefer the door on the right (on the right when you are standing with your back to the PaP machine) – the one where you have to go up the set of stairs to open. Continue through the door, going straight until you reach another door. Open that up and go buy a Thompson. Go up the stairs and open the last blocked entrance way. Run and jump down to the area where the mystery box is and turn on the power next to the power machine.
Middle Levels (4-10):
For most of these levels you will be camping with your backs to the door that is in the original mystery box room. I suggest that you buy speed cola ASAP, because hordes of zombies will be running at you. Speed cola is through the left hand archway when you are facing away from the closed door in the mystery box area. Just save up your money, as you will need it to get to all the teleporters to activate the PaP machine. After you have a good amount of money (6000 +) make a crawler by throwing a grenade. Now run around, opening all the doors, and activating the teleporters.
When you activate the teleporter, you have to run back to the main spawn area to connect it with the PaP machine, or have a friend just stand there and do it for you. There are 3 teleporters total. One is behind the door that is in the mystery box area (behind this door is also the 3000 point bowie knife). After activating all 3 teleporters, the PaP machine will be ready to go. It costs 5000 to upgrade your weapon, but it is completely worth it. If you happen to have a Browning or a MG-42, upgrade those -they’re completely beast when upgraded.
Last Levels (10 +)
For these last levels, camp up behind the mystery box area. There is a metal balcony in the room with a teleporter. Zombies can only come at you from straight ahead, so it is a very defensible position, especially for 2 people. If you have the upgraded Browning or MG-42, have fun blasting away (The upgraded Thompson is very good too). Use a monkey bomb if you start to get overwhelmed. Watch out at the later levels, dogs start spawning along with the zombies! Have fun lasting as long as you can!
This guide is supposed to be more of a suggestion than an actual step by step process. Like I said, I’ve only played it a few times with a friend and this is the most effective strategy we have found (got to level 18 on the 4th time I’ve ever played it). Enjoy!

when i play with my friends (usually3 or 4) we use the balcony until about round 15-20 up til this we put bouncing bettys in a long path from the unopened hallway door to the bridge then we move to the corner by that door and wait there until the zombies overwhelm us and we lead them along the path as a fallback this strategy has gotten us past 30+ waves
That’s a good idea. Like I said, I played only for about and hour or two with a friend(first time ever playing this map), then I wrote this guide. I didn’t have time to work out all the fine nuances of the game.
another good weapon after pap is thepistol you start with which then shoots explosives killing up to 10 zombies at once
Also, if you can get your hands on a wunderwaffle, you can set him up in the back of your forces (However many people you have) and fire a round or 2 when you begin to get overwhelmed. With a team of 3 and one person with a wunderwaffle, we got to around level 40

Same Tactics me n my mate used, got us too round 32 after a few hours trying
i got to 34. its easy. just do the balcony thing. if anyone can\’t get this far then u guys must not be working as a team. one have waffe or ray gun constantly shooting at base of the stairs and the other have ray gun and mg or ppsh (NOT BROWNING-it is horrible, mp40 is way better than it) throw a monkey bomb every round towards the end or if u need it. ***if u see a max ammo, throw all monkey bombs left because u will get more with the max ammo and time to get max ammo.***if trouble jump off for teleporter (DO NOT WAIT FOR THE PICKUP, takes TOO long) run to the right when u r at mainframe, then go up stairs to double tap and wait up on the ledge. shoot as much as u can and drop down when in trouble. TURN ON ELECTRIC FENCES-it is the best way to kill someone!! run to teleporter and by then the teleporter is ready. wait there and shoot ur way until teleporer is filled with zombies (teleporter kills ALL zombies around it so it is like electric fences!! repeat and and up on balcony spot at beginning of round. it is easy to get to 30
oh and do not waste money on pack a punching a gun unless it ppsh, ray gun, mg 42, wonderwaffe, and mayybe thompson or mp40. the rest arent very good and eventually u will end up having to get one of these. THE WORST PACK A PUNCH GUNS-type 100 or gewehr, dont underestimate the db shatty and magnum with the PaP

i got to round 19 with 2 people on day i got it doing the balcony thing. someone had mg-42 and ray gun PaP, i had thompson and colt PaP. we owned

an easier way to leave one zombie left to roam unstopped around the map is to go to the balcony (the area where you can buy a STG 44) and stay there, have three guys cover the stairs and one stays at the window. The person at the window always leaves a zombie alive and keeps rebuilding the barriers so the zombie cant go anywhere, the other players can go about and not have to worry about a zombie chasing them and the person at the window gets points.
Ok this will be a long but effective strategy.. once you have opened the door leads the bowie knife this is what you do. Have one person cover the window by the quick revive machine one the upstairs balcony window and one the under ground tunnel window. One person will use the electric barrier and guard against the zombies there. the person on the balcony will need the wunderwaffe dg-3jz as he will be able to cover the person by the barriers if needed…. the person by the quick revive machine should have a flamethrower(upgraded) and if possible an upgraded ray gun whenever a insta kill comes up the flame thrower guy should switch with the the guy ny the electric barrier…. if the person at the front becomes overwhemled he needs to pull back to the door way behind the doorway where the bowie knife is…. the person by the quick revive machine jump thru the whole that leads underground…..from there he can use the flamethrower to help cover the door way…..if things get really bad throw a monkey bomb or retreat to the teleporter….. at the have the person covering the under ground window hold one at the end of each round for perks and weapon gathereing……ive never had a chance to use this strategy only thought of it

well.for starters me and my freinds are just going by team work and hand work.But i got a stratigy by just opening the door on the right and wait ing i the back until lvl 7. after that u got to get a crwaler so u can open all the other teliporters. hears the doors u should not open the 1 on the left after the first one to were u respone.and the fistr one on the left that way u have a hallway to shoot with the person with the best guns in that game.when the other peaple with the sucky guns go to the window and watch it from ther u can get up to 70+well thats for me its accualy upto u
wehn playin with only 2 peep stay n the spawn room til round 4 get a crawler or runner grab jugg link as much as possible use the box or buy the thompson assuming u got thru the thompson room round 5 or six comes around. DOGS! but jug will save u even if uve a crappy or no gun,stay here and run in practical route to the spawn room back to the power room get a crawler and by round 10 u should have everything linked besides the main link behind the mystery boxz room kill the zombies from the catwalk DONT SHOOT THEM AS THEY COME UP THE STAIRS but once they getr up the stairs when u reload have him shoot ROTATE GET A CRAWLER run link upgrade and u shood make it to twenty NO PROBLEMS,just scares
this strategy stinks. The best one is to go the thompson way like he said and leave the door next to the gwehr closed.Go on to where the mystery box is and stay there going for guns until you get the teddy bear. Then you go turn the power on and go to the door opening up the trench gun room. Open that and link the teleporter. Make a crawler every round or so getting good guns linking teleporters and never open the filing cabinets in the back of the room unless there’s an emergency. stay there having someone guarding the 2 windows in the back and the rest guarding the main column like you would as if you went that way in the beginning If there gets to be too manyzombies try escaping by getting to the teleporter. Betty’s are very helpful for making sure zombies don’t come in through the windows if they are getting hard to cover.buying the perks juggernaut and quick reload are required no matter what strategy you use and quick revive is also really helpful. If you get extra money and can buy the bowie knife because you keep it no matter what
Level 18 is for newbies, how about you double that and get to wave 36 with two people, I don’t think so! Lolol
I wrote this guide directly after playing Der Reise for the first time right as it came out (played about two hours total), as is stated in my article. At the time of conception, level 18 was relatively high in its regard towards impressiveness, as more effective strategies had yet to be developed. If you had bothered to read anything in detail in my first sentence besides \”only to level 18\”, and thinking to yourself, \”lvl 18? Lolz wut a noobcakes\”, you would realize that this guide is a product of a few hours, not of several months, worth of experience.
hey the best way to get to high lvls. is to play with people that have mics. I got to 74 but ran out of ammo on browning and PaP ray gun
I really sugest to take turns onopening doors to so somebody wont be using the ??? box to much. And if you ever get a ray gun dont waste the ammo on small bunches like I did.
For the lvls.1,2,3 knife them(THIS IS A MAYBE FOR REALLY GOOD KNIFERS ONLY) if you are about to die while knifing RUN and or shoot!!! if u wish to contact me send me a message on xbox LIVE im coltsrock22 PEACE!!!
round 1:-4 bullets in the chest then knife (more points)
round 2:-have all four players at a window each stand back slightly they hit through it keep knifing til end of round 3-4 DO NOT BUY A GUN THERE IT IS A WASTE OF POINTS.
round3-4:-go through to double barrel proceed to thompson get 1
and stay in that room until the (wolves-dogs-hounds-hell hounds) come after that reload grab the max ammo clear the debree if u want to aattempt stay up in that area until ur over run drop to box hold off at the gate.
round6-7:-if ur on round 7 now your going great let each person spin the box once! and once only(if spun more than 5 times on a round the teddy will appear!!!) now hold off at the gate if u last there for another dogs round use the electric fence it is very helpful each round from here on out u should be spinning the box until u get good guns after that link all teleporters as fast as possible!!!
round 10-12:-well done ur going great by now u should have at least juggernog-speed cola also people who have monkey bombs should defiently have quick revive as u basically serve as the team medic now if u have guns such as a ppsh-and a thompson upgraded i highly suggest not getting doubletap root beer as u will burn through all ur ammo in 1 round now at this time a good set up would be 2 people crouching at the stairs on the walkway in the large warhouse type place looking down one person at the window behind them and the “medic” looking out window and and using monkey bombs sparingly
the medic should have something like -jugger-quick revive- speed-double-raygun-wonderwaffe(all upgraded) the two at stairs should have all perks an mg42 upgraded and raygun-flamethrower-browning one of those 3 upgraded the one watching the window should have possible all perks a ppsh and a trenchgun upgraded this set up will set u for round 30-60+ provided you get ALOT of max ammos have bouncing bettys as fall backs one in the corner next to the box to give u time to reload if u get cornered remember bouncing bettys cant hurt you or your team mates!!! thanks ill happily play nazi zombies with any1 on 360 (lol ps3’s broke!!) gamer is lunar leech
