Call of Duty Series – The Most Famous FPS Series Ever!

            Call of Duty (FPS Series on multiple Platforms) is well-known around the entire world for its breath taking Single Player missions, in which you are a Soldier taking part in many wars along the time as the Series evolved. But the most exciting part comes when you join the Multi Player mode online against other players. It is there where challenge arises between the players and everyone trains hard to become the best. Some decides to keep playing as a Solo Player and many others decide to create their own Clan for more intensive game play as Teamwork is always necessary for one to succeed.

            The CoD Series starts in Call of Duty 1 based on World War II developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision followed by an Expansion which was produced by Activision, and developed by Gray Matter Interactive called Call of Duty: United Offensive. This is said to be the best one of the whole series because of the “Perfectly” designed maps which some Hardcore FPS gamers say to be the most enthusiastic maps with great detail and positioning. Unfortunately this game is getting fewer and fewer players playing it each day, but it will never be forgotten from the FPS Games history as it is also called “The Legend of FPS which changed the FPS world”.

            The Series continues with Call of Duty 2 with the same characteristics of CoD 1 but some refining was done and a whole new Campaign. It is the most selling game of the series as in the first year of the release 1.4 Million copies were already sold on the Xbox Platform. This game is still active in some countries and is also played in many LAN parties organised locally and World Wide. This game is believed to still be played for the following 10 years because of its fast action and very competitive Multi Player modes.

            Call of Duty 3 was the next game in the series which unfortunately was only released for Console Gamers and the Pc gamers were left with no choice but to carry on with the previous game in CoD series. It wasn’t such a great hit but still got its place in one of the best FPS games for PS2 and WII Console.

            The most anticipating one of them all is Call of Duty 4, which changed the whole environment of the previous games. It is based on Modern Warfare, the Government Forces fighting against the raging Terrorist of today’s World. The game play has been fastened up a lot more and the weapons and equipment carried by your soldier are much more sophisticated and of much bigger help when it comes to multi-fragging some Terrorist Badass.

            All the previous games where developed and published by the same companies, but in the next Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: World at War, the developing work was taken by Treyarch and the Series went back to World War II and even dropped down its popularity as the game play was literally disgusting when compared to the previous CoD games. Some CS:S players liked this game as they say it is based on CS:S with a mixture of CoD 4 perks and weapon modifications. This was a big disappointment to most of the CoD Gamers.

            Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (also known as CoD 6) is the next game for this awesome series. It is mostly based on Call of Duty 4 but with much more PhysX processing and more sophisticated weapons. It even includes in driving other kind of vehicles than in previous games. This game is awaited by all the CoD Gamers and is planned to be the top selling game of 2009 gaming month.
