Cod: Waw – German Version is Censored
The German Gouvenment censores computer games ways to harsh in my opinion. Read here, what happened to Call of Duty: World at War.
As some of you might know, the shooter game Call of Duty: World At War was released in America two days ago. It’ll be released in Germany tomorrow. Well, it’s a censored version. All Nazi-signs are removed. Flame throwers are removed. Yes, flame throwers. Call of Duty is known for realism, and I must say CoD4:MW was awesome at this point. The faces, guns, gun sounds, maps… almost like in a film. But now I’m asking where does the realism stay at CoD:WaW?? Why remove nazi-signs? Because they are forbidden in Germany. Why are they forbidden in Germany? Yeah, the reason I’d like to know! It’s a game, not everyone playing Germans in the game and “wearing nazi signs” is a nazi. There’s a difference between wearing them in real life. Also flame throwers are removed. Why? They are brutal! I still don’t get the point. Someone who plays brutal shooter games, gets a terrorist. I know, that sounds funny, but that’s the official reason why much shooter games are censored that harsh. At CoD:WaW u can cut enemies arms and legs and heads off. Guess what happened to this feature at German version… There’s a new single player game mode in CoD:WaW. It’s called the zombie mode. You are an American soldier and fight German “nazi-zombies”. I guess I don’t need to tell you what happened to it in German version… Did you know, that Germans were not allowed/ able to test the beta version? Why? Including nazi signs. As far as I know, an IP-blocker prevented giving beta-keys to Germans. Now what do u guys think? Much Germans will buy (illegal) English versions by the way. And I seriously don’t know anyone who likes the censoring.

great great, i totaly agree with you, removing the nazi signs and flamethrowers is pointless. If you want to prevent germans from knowing about their (nazi) past then i really dont think removing the things that make call of duty a very realistic game is the way to go… NO get the real WAW to germany and let someone else worry about flamethrowers and those things

To hell with censorship. Stupid german government censors EVERYTHING. They want to forget their Nazi Past yet they act just like them. Goebbels would be proud of them.
it was just like it at cod2,you can shoot heads of in gears of war2 so why not ai cod5?
How can I download more Zombie maps?? (region problems-HELP!)
I live in Germany, where unfortunately the German versions o CoD5:WaW has been censored: the zombie maps – the whole zombie game, is unavailable.
Now Ive gone out of my way to get a british version of the game – i have now the map : “Night of the Dead” and can play that one no problem.
The other ones I can see, and even choose, but then it says : these are not available in your region.
My question is : Is there a way to download the other maps, in Germany? I havent purchased map pack 2 or 3 becuase of this.
My only thought has been to try to download it from : http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US (or the UK site) — instead of downloading it from the 360 dashboard.
(i must say im a little conforted that they are only asking for 600mpts now in germany for the map packs since the zombie maps arent included.
