How to Setup an Effective Assault Class in Call of Duty 4

So you want to get the most out of your assault rifle in Call of Duty 4?  Well just starting out at level 4 when you unlock create a class you have a choice between two rifles the Standard M-16 assault rifle and the AK-47 assault rifle.  In my opinion the M-16 is more of a marksman rifle in other words for accurate fire from farther back.  On the other hand the Ak-47 is a good rifle for close up to mid range shooting. 

I suggest you make two classes assault and marksman instead of a shotgun class.  For your assault class the Ak-47 makes a perfect weapon.  For your assault class i suggest stopping power in leiu of juggernaut for the simple purpose juggernaut is not well received in multiplayer but, if you dont care go with juggernaut if you prefer.  For my blue perk C4 or 3X special grenades stay away from the RPG! this may seem like a good perk but you could not be more mistaken the rocket is horrably inaccurate! For your yellow perk Steady aim is a must this will give you a huge edge in close qaurters combat since it makes your hip fire crosshair tighter together. That should be a good setup to get you to higher levels where you can use diffrent assault rifles and perks. 

Later on when you gain the M4 assault rifle this class still works well with it the same goes for the G36c assault rifle.  Perk wise bandolier which gives you more ammunition is a worth while perk to use.  Bomb sqaud is a good perk if you plan on playing hardcore game modes.  Sleight of hand works well with the Ak-47 but stopping power is still needed with the M4 and G36c if you feel like being adventerous double tap can be used but it eats through ammo quickly so it must be coupled with bandolier.  As far as yellow perks go either steady aim or extreme conditoning I would stay away from martydom this perk is considered cheap and looked down upon last stand is also a perk that isnt as bad as martydom but takes up a perk slot that could be used for a better perk.  That is basically all you need to know to setup a succsesful assault rifle class.
