Level Up Fast in Call of Duty Multi-Player

Mainly for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War Players. These hints and tips are probably pretty obvious, but read on anyway, see if you can learn something.

It’s all about getting those massive challenge bonuses. Getting XP from kills and Match Bonuses comes naturally from each game and there is no point in forcing yourself to try to get more kills for the sake of XP.

It’s well worth doing the gun challenges, even on particular guns that you prefer not to use. Most of the weapons in Call of Duty give you a total of 3500 XP for completing all of it’s challenges. This includes the head shots challenges. This can be a pain, playing for hours and resulting with only 5-10 head shots with a particular gun.

If you can’t seem to get head shots, try to flank the enemy. Equip yourself with a silenced Primary Weapon and UAV Jammer. Then try to move swiftly around to the enemies area. Hopefully one or two people will be blissfully unaware of your presence. Then you can take your time lining up a head shot from behind.

Shotguns probably will take the longest to complete since they always have spraying shells (bullets that spread when fired). When you shoot hopefully the majority of the fragments will hit the opponent’s head. This is extremely difficult and considering there aren’t many Shotgun maps this can become a grueling task. When trying to complete awkward gun Challenges such as this one try to get a party so that you can ask them to skip maps.

Sniper Rifles or Bolt-Action Rifles can be very difficult also. It’s very rare that you’ll spot somebody who is not running around perfectly lined up for a head shot. When you see someone; take the shot, snipers do not get many kills anyway.

Some Challenges such as the Boot Camp Challenges are easy enough to do on purpose make sure you get around to doing those. But the Elite and Humiliation Challenges are almost impossible to complete on purpose. I managed to complete the “How The…?”* Challenge without knowing I did anything.

*How The…? – Kill an enemy by shooting an explosive device through the wall.

However you can adjust your Custom Classes to give you a greater chance of completing these Challenges. For example, say I wanted to complete the “How The…?” Challenge. I would probably have an automatic weapon, Flash/Gas, Bomb Squad, Juggernaut and Deep Impact. It doesn’t have to be exactly like that but if you are solely trying to complete one Challenge you can easily adjust a Custom Class.

Take advantage of Double XP weekends, you will appreciate later. Even if you do not play Call of Duty that much I suggest you make an exception for the weekend and play it more. By the time the weekend is gone hopefully you will have better weapons and Perks.

Well I think that’s all I have. Leave comments if you have any other hints.
