The Modern Warfare Three Sales Down, Left of From Black Ops

Military shooter game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may have to carve a new record with the biggest sales when officially launched. But ongoing sales, Modern Warfare 3 is still less than its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Opsat at the same time period. Apparently Modern Warfare 3 is still less than the phenomenal Black Ops that will soon get a sequel to it.

According to analysts at Macquarie Equities, volume sales of Modern Warfare 3 is currently still under Black Ops around 4.2percent. In the last month of March 2012, reported that sales of Modern Warfare 3 is only sold less than half the sales of Black Opsin at the same period. This is clearly a sign that Modern Warfare 3 proved successful in the initial launch with sales of about 6.5 million units in just 24 hours since its release, beating the Black Ops is ”only” able to sell about 5.6 million units on its first day of launch.

However, an interesting opinion expressed by the analysts at Piper Jaffray. According to them, sales of Modern Warfare 3 which is caused by the decreased number of gamers who do not buy the retail game and the increasing number of players who actually use the console to play other media besides games, such as streaming video or social networking.
