Counter-Strike 1.6: Dedicated Server

How to make your own dedicated server in counter-strike 1.6.

How to make a dedicated server:

In order to make a dedicated server you will need to go to the valve folder, usually located in program files/valve there you will see a red box which will be named half-life dedicated server. Open it and then switch the game from half-life to counter-strike then name your server to any name you want and you can also switch the LAN to Internet or Internet to LAN, this means that your server can be made on LAN as well as Internet. There is also a list of maps there from your game, this list will only contain the maps that you have in your game. It will ask you for a RECON pass so put your name there, you can also change the maximum amount of players you want on your server, once you are done with these settings press the button below which says ” Start dedicated server.”

This is what the dedicated server main page looks like:

How to handle a dedicated server:

Once the server is started you will see a main page with the map statistics on it, you will see other headings on the top of players, console, bans, statistics, configure, etc. Now go in to the console box and put on the commands you need. Slowly you will see players entering your server. You can see them chat and you can even talk to them by using the “say” command in the console. If you see a player who is abusing and talking spam language you can also ban him from your server for as long as you want. While the server is running you can also change the maps.

This what the dedicated server dialog should look like:
