Counter strike 1.6 – how to have your own graffiti tag
Want to use any image as a graffiti in cs 1.6? read this and learn how
Here I will teach you how to have your own image as a graffiti tag on counter strike 1.6!
Step1: download hl tag converter here
Step2: open hl tag converter and click on “ open image ” and then choose the image you want
Step3: click on “ adjust image ” and then on “ apply changes and convert to 256 colors ”
Step4: click on “ save tag ” and then in “ Export to WAD file ” and click ok .
Step5: Save it on your desktop with the name tempdecal.wad
Step6: copy the file to c:/programs/valve/cstrike and if you have other folder with the name cstrike_portuguese or cstrike_spanish, etc. Put in that folder too.
And you’re done, now play the game and mark your graffiti everywhere
Note: do not go to “options” or else you’re graffiti auto deletes.

guys here s a tip:in my case cstrike folder is not in vavle folder it is in the main counter-strike folder. see here C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike so just copy in it and its works fine for me hope this helpes!

you have to make the file a read only in properties when you save it in to your account folder

All steps are ok but before you copy that file you need to make tempdecal.wad as read only file (right click properites-select read only) then copy it to c:/programs/valve/cstrike. That should work.

ofc the path of ur steam folder depends on where you have installed it .. but, the path should look something like this:
(the partition you have saved ur steam folder in e.g c:\ / D:\ etc):\programfiles\steam\ ..etc:)
an easyer way’s to start, search, type in: steam, copy the path, win + r, paste.. voila.:)

Well thanks all that is fixed..now 1 problem…i followed the instructions it appeared for a while but now it doesn’t want to come out during the games…i never enter the option screen what-so-ever soo…i’m getting irritated…ergh…
Computer, Local disc, programs, valve, steam, steamappes, your account, czero or czero_danish if you have changed steamoptions for your own language
true..just copy tempdecal.wad to c-programs-counterstrike-cstrike (it will appear a message “do you want to substitute?” you press yes and then any picture you choose will appear the one you didi in the hltagconverter

For the people who is not working out.. Do you change the ‘tempdecal.wad’ program with the old ‘tempdecal.wad’?? If You have more than 1 ‘cstrike’ change tempdecal.wad on all of them by deleting it and paste the new tempdecal.wad.

it does work, you just need to find the right location, and dont click options while palaying CS or it will reset
and yeah the image quality gets considerably reduced on the actual tag, and isnt worth the effort if your tag you want has a lot of detail

i cant find my progrmes thing and i have the game
step 1 downlaod and unzip the small program then follow step 2 to 6….. for step 6 (see above # 11 for tho\’s who have steam).dont worries to much about other language folders i didnt.
YOU MUST COPY AND replace tempdecal.wad WITH the exsisting tempdecal.wad (in cstrike or ur preferred game)it may not work the first time so try a second time. and it didnt delete or alter any other tags, but it doesnt referre to the new tag name it keep the old one so check it in the a game befor you go into options because people say that it deletes the tag (so?)
this process work for me, how ever the black back ground disapear. so can anyone can help me here… anyone

u don’t have folder cause u using CS:Steam
but ~/valve/cstrike/ is for Non Steam version of CS

1st of all, it’s not a graffiti tag it’s a spray icon
2nd to be able to change smthn in the opt’s it would be better to replace some of the original hl-spray icons…but what the hell i know playing cs sice the 1.3 version
I did the steps it looks like it works! I CAN see the tag!
But if i ask other ppl if they can see my tag they say
they see a B in stead of my weed tag
also after quit game i have to replace the tempdecal.wad again if i want to keep seeing it next time i connect

hey guys if your comp can’t find valve or somethin maybe it’s because if you didn’t download cs from a cd, just from internett then it wont work !

Well I have steam, & cs bought ligit from steam website.
I followed all the steps & now when I press the T button to spray it makes the noise but nothing appears.

It works! For those who don’t have valvecstrike folder – just find folder “cstrike” somewhere in your CS folder and replace “tempdecal” file with same one in it!
you need to go to properties and change the tempdecal.wad file to read only

God damn it…. When you save youre tag save it as .wad then if you ply cs go to counter strike folder were cs is held , go to cstrike and save youre tag by the name – tempdecal.wad and another time in the same directory pldecal.wad 100% WORKS ON CS !!!!!!!!!!
