Diablo III – a Guide to Barbarian’s Achievements

This guide explains what is required to receive all the Barbarian class achievements in Diablo III.

To the Victor Go the Spoils/A Dream of Victory/From the Mouth of Hell/Bul-Kathos Reborn 10-40p

Complete Act IV with a Barbarian on Normal/Nightmare/Hell/Inferno difficulty.

Unlocks a banner accent and a banner sigil.

These achievements are self-explanatory. Each completed difficulty gives 10 Achievement points.

Bask in My Glory 10p

Use a skill that grants a beneficial effect to your follower.

To get the achievement you must hire any of the three followers and execute a skill that benefits them. An example of a such skill would be the skill Warcry (lvl 28), which extends the range of the skill to companions. Another such skills is Ignore Pain (lvl 22) with the rune Mob Rule (lvl 43).

Mighty Vengence 10p

Equip a mighty belt and a mighty weapon at the same time.

Otherwise self-explanatory, but if there is any confusion, the mighty belt and mighty weapon are types of belts and weapons strictly restricted to Barbarians.

Death From Afar 10p

Kill one of the following enemies with a thrown weapon

The achievement requires you to kill one of the game’s major bosses using a thrown weapon. This does not mean a throwing weapon, but skills like Ancient Spear (lvl 9) and Weapon Throw (lvl 14). To make sure you get the achievement, get a weapon with enough weapon damage and instead of later bosses, choose the Skeleton King on Normal difficulty

Warriors of the North 10p

Reach level 60 with 2 Barbarians.

This one is fairly self-explanatory. To get to lvl 60 you should finish three of the difficulties (Normal, Nightmare, Hell). It is of course advisable to level up two Barbarians of both genders.

Controlled Fury 10p

Fight with maximum Fury for 5 minutes.

5 minutes is a long time, so achieving this one may be more difficult than it seems at first glance. If your fury level drops even one point below 100, the hidden timer for the achievement resets. The best way to get the achievement is to select the Passive skill Unforgiving (lvl 55). It stops you from losing Fury and actually keeps it maxed at all times. The downside of the skill is it’s unlocking level, which is as late as level 55.

If you’re still below lvl 55, you either need a consistent stream of monsters to kill or a large enough group that won’t run out of monsters in less than 5 minutes. A good example of a consistent enemy stream is the Carrion Nest, which spawns Carrion Bats every few seconds. They can be found in the Act I. To gather together a large number of weak enemies, events such as Jar of Souls (randomly appearing event in one of the Defiled Crypts in Act 1) or the Skeleton King’s skeleton spawning room should work well.

An Impenetrable Defense 10p

Block 5 attacks in a row.

Unlocks a banner sigil.

The achievement requires equipping a shield. Getting more “Chance to Block” from items increases the chance of getting 5 blocks in a row. However, the best way is to get hit by a large group of weak enemies.

Blowin’ in the Wind 10p

Break 2,000 objects with Whirlwind.

Unlocks a banner accent.

Hitting any destructable object in the game should count.

This achievement may prove out to require a considerable amount of patience, since there is no right place to complete it. The objects are scattered all around Sanctuary and Heaven, and you should simply try to break all the objects as you pass them.

Runes Dust Devils (lvl 24) and Hurricane (lvl 29) for Whirlwind (lvl 20) will quicken the speed at which you can break objects. Dust Devil spawns tornadoes to your aid and Hurricane increases your speed to your regular movement speed (normally Whirlwind (lvl 20) slows you down). Equipping boots with a movement speed increasing property may also help.

Bloodbath 10p

Keep a monster under the Bleed effect continuously for 20 seconds.

Currently the only way to give an enemy a Bleed effect as a Barbarian is to use the Rend (lvl 5) skill. It costs 20 Fury and lasts 3 seconds. Therefore, to keep the Bleed effect active for the required period of time you need a strong enough enemy who can survive the beating and bleeding. A boss near to your level will do.

You can unlock a rune called Mutilate (lvl 45) for Rend (lvl 5), which extends the duration of Rend (lvl 5) to 5 seconds.

To guarantee a sufficient supply of Fury to keep Rend (lvl 5) active, you may want to attach certain runes to your Fury generating skills. Instigation for Bash (lvl 1) increases Fury gain per hit by 6 and Reaping Swing for Cleave (lvl 3) increases it by 3. This may not, however, be needed to get the achievement.
