Dynasty Warriors 4: Acquire Horse Harness Guide

This guide will show you how to get all the horse harnesses in DW4

Red-Hare harness

Location: Battle of Xia Pi

Force: Lu Bu

Effect: The fastest horse in the game

Carrier type: Red box

Item Location: The little island on the bottom right corner of the map.

Unlock:

When entering the stage do not kill any enemies. Wait for the Guan Yu meets red hare event. Then kill Guan Yu before he gets of the island with red hare on it. Then the special item report will appear.

Tips:

-Play on easy

-Play as Lu Bu to have the most chance of victory.

Event trigger:

-“Red Hare shall not fall into the hands of Guan Yu”

-“I have never seen such a magnificent steed”

Hex Mark harness

Location: Campaign Against Liu Bei (Musou Mode only for some reason)

Force: Yellow Turban

Effect: Luck increases while mounted (I guess that’s why its call Hex Mark)

Carrier type: Red Box

Item Location: Left of the entry point in Liu Bei’s castle.

Unlock:

Slay both Zhao Yun and Guan Yu before enemy reinforcements appear. Then attack Liu Bei and take his health down to half. The item report will appear after that.

NOTE: You must play the yellow turban fortress before this.

Tip:

-Play on Normal because you don’t want Liu Bei to die too quickly.

Storm Harness

Location: Campaign against Cao Cao

Force: Lu Bu

Effect: Mounted attack increases by 12 when on it.

Carrier type: Red Box

Item Location: By one of the clay pots behind Cao Cao

Unlock: This one can be very confusing so listen up! First defeat Cao Zhang (one of Cao Pi’s sub officers), then Xu Huang will ambush you. Defeat him and Lu Bu’s strategist will warn you about other ambush parties. This is at the bottom of Xiahou Yuan’s castle.

Defeat the ambush party and Xiahou Dun will appear to the north. Slay Xiahou dun and the item report will appear.

Event Trigger:

-“There maybe more ambush parties”

-“We should search the area”

Tips:

-Play on easy

-Do not kill Cao Pi because that’ll ruin the event

Shadow Harness

Location: Battle at Tong Gate

Force: Shu

Effect: When mounted you can not be knocked off the horse (But damage is still applied normally)

Carrier type: Red Box

Item Location: Bottom right area of the map

Unlock: Make Han Sui think about Defecting but he declines Cao Cao’s offer. Heres how you do this: first defeat the four officers at the bottom right side of the map. Then Fight Xu Huang but kill his sub officer first (this is very important).Then kill both of Cao Cao’s officers and take his morale down to 1 star. Then the item report should appear.

Event trigger:

-“Ma Chao is like a son to me”

-“Did you really think such a ploy would work on me?”

Tips:

-play on easy for sure

-use red hare

-kill the four officers as fast as you can

Elephant Harness

Location: The Naman Campaign

Force: Naman

Effect: Mounted on an elephant when the stage starts

Carrier type: Red Box

Item Location: South of Meng Huo’s castle

Unlock: Ride an elephant into the enemy’s main camp. This is very easy to do, but very frustrating. You must follow one of your elephant buddies until an enemy solider knocks them off.

Tips:

-Play on hard for a bigger chance that your men will be knocked off their elephants.
