2009 Golden Joystick Awards Results!

The world’s oldest gamimg awards were given out in London last friday,here are the results!

The Golden Joystick awards are based on fan voting via internet and this year a record of 1.2 million gamimg fans cast their ballots.

For best family game of the year:  Littlebigplanet, a unique PS3 game, with industry leading graphics and 3d gameplay. The Ubisoft game’s popularity is based on a huge online community that can create new maps, and campaign for all to enjoy.

The Bliss Handheld game of the year: Grand theft auto: Chinatown wars, not much to say about this one, GTA delivers again in this stunning sequel.

The video game retailer of the year: GAME a widely popular video game store in the UK.

The mobile game of the year goes to: Metal Gear Solid Touch, an iPod app game that has amazing 3d graphics, gameplay, kind of like Call of Duty. image credit

The Nintendo game of the year: Call of Duty: World at War, not surprisingly Call of Duty the most popular first person shooter game available claims this top spot.

Msn Multiplayer Game of the Year: Call of Duty: World at War, the massive first-person shooter game is also very popular online.

The Rampage Soundtrack of the Year: Guitar Hero World Tour

Xbox game of the Year: Gears of War 2, Released in November 2008, the much anticipated sequel delivered with high quality graphics and a further developped story.

PC Game of the Year: Fallout 3, This high-end graphics game is designed in a post nuclear world

Amiqus Games UK Developer of the Year: Jagex , Jagex is the game developping team behind the massive MMORPG that is Runescape.com, an online Java based game. Runescape has seen increased popularity after it underwent a massive graphic overhaul.

PlayStation Game of the Year: Killzone 2, another highly-succesful first-person shooter, this time on the prestigious PS3.

Publisher of the Year: Activision Blizzard, Blizzard is the software developper of Pc games such as the widely popular World of Warcraft and the highly anticipated Starcraft II or Diablo 3.

Ultimate Game of the Year, together with Zavvi.co.uk: Fallout 3, surprisingly Fallout 3 takes it from Call of Duty, altough there were no recent releases for Call of Duty.

    I’m so glad that Jagex took the title, I have played Runescape for a long time, it’s about time they won something! Go Jagex!
