Around April of ‘08, Rockstar games along with other gaming companies release what became the best game of the year. GTA 4

GTA4 has definitely been made differently to the previous grand theft autos. You play as Niko Bellic who is a eastern European attempting to leave behind his past. He arrives in Liberty city hoping to fulfill the American dream, but finds out that his cousin Roman has only lied about his success. Throughout the game, you do various jobs for people from shooting people to escorting them.

Each mission is unique and gives you a small part of the whole story line. As an added twist, GTA 4 gives you an occasional choice. There are people you have to kill and some you don’t. For example, in the mission “blood brothers”, there are two brothers Francis and Derek who want to kill each other and both have asked you to kill the other. Whilst they are sitting in the local park talking, you climb up 6 or 7 floors of stairs to reach the top of the building. There you pick up a sniper rifle and aim down at one of the two brothers. I chose to kill Derek, because the other brother Francis is a cop. He can help me get out of tricky situations with the police department but it is not as affective as using cheats.

There are 94 or 95 missions and a lot of them have similar plots. They may seem to get repetitive, but it never does. Some of them can be very difficult, but once you repeat it, you find out how to accomplish it.

The setting of GTA 4 is located on a place called Liberty City which has been inspired by today’s New York. As you drive through the city, you see similar landmarks and places. The size of the city and the details are just perfect. At the beginning, it may get a bit difficult to drive around, so you can use a cab or a train. It obviously costs a little bit of money, but if you don’t have much time on your hands, it can be perfect.

Niko taking each step on the stair case and a shotgun going off when it hits the ground is truly fantastic.

Even the people dress like 21st Centaury Americans and you’ll never see one person wearing the exact same clothes as the next.

GTA 4 is the first time; gamers can play online with their closest buddies or with complete strangers. There are many different games you can play from free for all to other competitive games.

Besides the fantastic quality of the game, there are some minor problems like when you run into an apartment door, your head might go through it.
