How to Fix Rmn40 GTA IV

Lots of people seem to be getting the RMN40 error. Well, this is the fix.

If you are one of the many people who are being plauged by the dreaded, “RMN40″ error for GTA IV, have no fear, theres a simple workaround that doesn’t include downloading any updates to your O/S. All it takes is some very basic knowledge of Windows XP, and a desire to fix the error.

Anyway, to fix this, go to

start>run

Now, when the “Run” dialog box appears, type “regedit” without any qoutes, and wait for the program to open.

At this point, there should be a box with seemingly random folders on your screen, well, they’re not random, this is the windows Registry. Without going into too much detail, this is where many Windows Programs (and the OS itself) keeps a bunch of important info.

Now, you need to navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentcontrolsetControlWindows

Once here, look for a file named “CSD Version” or something similar. Double click on it, and change whatever number is there to 300.

And that’s it, you fixed the RMN40 error.
