Minecraft 1.1
New Terrains, Mod API and easy crafting Golden Apples.
As of writing this article jeb announced via twitter that they’ll update Minecraft from 1.0 to 1.1 tomorrow, this comes just after they updated the game published by the company the game being called cobalt. Now in this update I’m expecting a few things to be added which will be listed below.
Mod API?
The Mod API has been one of the most talked about things on Minecraft by the community as most players at some point are or have used mods made by other players. The new mod API will enable people to install Mods on a standard that doesn’t include breaking open the Minecraft.jar file deleting a few files and copying the mod in. I would also think that it would enable players to switch between them all.
New Terrain Generator:
The terrain generator of 1.0 was a bit meh for most of the users and this sparked a fair few threads on the forums about how it should be changed to the include beaches and generally like the one of 1.7.3 Beta. Now the generator was included in the weekly snapshot 12w01a, which from personally playing on it I can say the terrain generation is much better.
Golden Apple Crafting:
Now this one was also mentioned on twitter a couple of days ago in which the golden apples are going to be made less expensive to make, which for me it doesn’t really do much as I’ve never had to craft and golden apples.
The thing I would like to see:
There is one thing I would like to see made with more items is potions because there are only a few different combinations for potions, so I would like to see more potions and splash potions so it adds more variety to them
