Half Life 2: The Faces Are Real

Barney is almost certainly walking about somewhere.

So zooming my way through an Xbox 360 magazine (Issue 49 August 2009 of the “Xbox 360 The Official Xbox Magazine”) is the only thing I can do now with all English reading material now exhausted here in Frances and so reading magazines that were more for flicking through then reading through, have now become my only source of literature for my mind to digest. A little inevitable piece of chance came along when reading a five page article on facial capturing in gaming; the bad news is that I’ve got one less thing to read, the good news is that now I’ve realised somewhere in the world right now Barney or G-Man of “Half Life” are roaming about to either startling a gamer of their likeness to two particular characters of one particular videogame series or for a gamer to realise why likeness is so freaking to two particular videogames characters.

The oddness to find this little morsel of information from one magazine came with an oddness in the comparison between the actor and character of different videogames that their faces are now part of. The guy who is the G-Man has the freakish resemblance to the character with the little specks of grey hair present, while the gauntness present in the G-Man isn’t present for his real-life counterpart (How lucky for him).

The Barney guy is where the resemblance is the most freaky at how alike they appear; nothing truly different between them, nothing at all and that brings on the thought of how many times has this guy been stopped in the street by someone to hear “You look like Barney from Half Life 2”. The surreal scene to someone look exactly Barney in a literal sense….he’d win cosplay competitions no sweat! I mean if you see the image of the guy you’d understand how much I mean the likeness is there….no not likeness, more “Exact freaking counterpart”. The whole thing of technology progressing smoothly through a web of complexity….wait what? Doesn’t matter, all that matters now is that somewhere now a number of people are out there who look like or are “Exact freaking counterparts” walking among us.

Also the guy who’s Elis in “Half Life 2” is an “Exact freaking counterpart” type right down to the beard of his.

Thought of the Day: July 30th:

The film “Blade Runner” is pretty freaking cool to watch, helps adds a image to the world within the book itself by watching it….still hasn’t changed the way I think of Rachael, the anime chick in hiding.
