Halo 3: ODST TV Trailer
Bungie’s of the Live-Action TV Ad to excite the fans about their up and coming game “Halo 3: ODST”.
Bungie has released a TV ad trailer for its video game “Halo 3: ODST”. The trailer was filmed within a remarkably short period of time: approximately 3 weeks. The company which made it (MJZ, the same company which brought us the Halo 3 “Believe” advertisement) built the mock weapons and armour within the space of two weeks, not to mention a costume of one of the alien “Brutes” to be featured within the game. Perhaps one of the most startling things about the trailer for this video game is that it is entirely live action and all of the actors featured within it are former military and special operations soldiers. The soldiers were all flown to a desolate open pit mine in Hungary for the filming which took 3 days. It is truly amazing the expense and effort that has surely went into producing this first rate trailer; one which easily puts movie trailers in the shadows.
The game itself runs parallel to the events experience from Master Chief’s perspective in Halo 2. The ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) finds himself fighting through the city of New Mombasa in order to prevent the evil plans of the Covenant in their ultimate goal of humanity’s destruction. The player is forced to use tactics unfamiliar to your former Spartan comrade, namely stealth.
The game was originally intended to be a very short episode of the Halo story, however during development it has taken a much more satisfying turn. The game was originally intended to last no longer than 5-6 hours, however it is now estimated to have an approximate 8-10 hours gameplay within the story alone. Shipping with the game will also be the “Firefight” mode, similar to Gears of War 2’s “Horde” mode. Not only this but there will also be a separate disc included which contains the entire Halo 3 multiplayer experience, including all of the Map Packs.
The release of the trailer on September 4th 2009 firmly cemented the games release as the most anticipated of the year, or arguably the most anticipated since its sequel “Halo 3” was released around the same time in 2007. The game is due out in stores on the 22nd September.

Interesting, can’t wait!
