Halo Two Mode: Happy!

The greatest custom split screen setting of all time!

“Punted!” He yelled as my ghostly body shot across the stage of Coagulation. A seemingly empty ghost flew under my nearly invisible corpse.

“Another one?” My other friend questioned, right before the Ghost splattered him up a wall.

“This time, you’re going down!” My Third friend exclaimed, as he rose out of the blue base with a Banshee.

“Let this be, our Final Battle!” My first friend rallied his battle cry as his ghost shot over the hill, and my third friend’s Banshee dove out of the sky straight for him. At the last possible moment, he jumped out of the Banshee, landed next to him, and blew off the ghost’s gas tank with a shotgun.

The ghost exploded, and a shimmering figure shot forward out of the ghost.

“Darn it! You won again.” My First friend laughed. “I was so close too!”

I could only watch and laugh as I saw body after body fly through the air, including my own. Halo 2 is one of the most fun games that I have ever played, even though I do not own an X-box. There are two modes of Halo that we always play, and on only two different stages.

One of the two modes that we always play on is Slayer. With Random Vehicles on the Field, and Random Weapons. We play to 25 Kills, and it is always a blast. But when we are really in need of a challenge, we turn on the mode Happy! Happy! is the a custom mode that is a modified version of Slayer. We all have a permanent Active Camo, so all you can see of the other players is a Shimmer.

We also have Half health for players and double damage for all weapons. The same things apply for the weapons and vehicles as when we play on Slayer. The biggest thing, and the one thing that makes you truly invisible, is having all the radars turned off. The scene that I described above is an actual piece of a conversation that we had while playing a match on Happy!

My first friend is an expert with ghosts, and can “Punt People across the stage with them. I’ve seen him dodge Sniper Fire Using a ghost, but the sniper doesn’t live long after that. He has ridden strait up cliffs to land on snipers before.

My second Friend is a Tank Camper. He gets a scorpion, sits behind the blue base, and blow the heck out of everything that comes back there. The only time I’ve ever killed him was while playing on happy, because he could not see that I was sneaking up begin him.

My last friend, and the best one of us at Halo, is a Banshee expert, an expert sniper, and just really good at killing people. I am his favorite target, and I spend most of my time waiting to respawn.

The only time I ever won a round was on Happy! I was completely Invisible, as it was a dark stage and hard to see the shimmer of others. I followed people around, having a pistol equipped in case they saw the shimmer of my weapon. Then, I jumped forward and switched weapons to an Energy Sword and Lunged it through the other player’s back. Everyone Else thought it was cheap, but I was using wit and skill to use every feature and aspect that I could to kill others. I had 25 Kills, and I had been killed 1 time.

Happy! Is a mode in Halo 2, and one of the most mentally and physically challenging modes ever created. The Split Screen play is among the greatest party activities, but It is boosted by the unique mode, called happy! It is one of the most fun things that I’ve ever done with my friends, and I thought that it was interesting enough to write an article.
