How to Make an Axe in Minecraft
An axe is one of the first tools you will want to make in Minecraft, it allows you to break through trees and wooden planks much quicker than had you just used your fists. So below is a guide on how to craft an axe in Minecraft. This guide applies to all versions for the game; PC, Xbox 360 and iOS.
This first thing you need when making an axe in Minecraft is some wood. Once you’ve punched down some wood and crafted it into planks you can create a crafting table and some sticks, shown below. For a guide on how to make a crafting table click here.
Then once you’ve created these sticks you need to place two of them verticle to one another and place three wooden planks around the topmost stick as shown in the below diagram.
Once you’ve created your first wooden axe you can use it to chop down trees a little bit quicker.
If you want to improve the speed and durability of your axe you must replace the wooden planks at the top left of the picture with other materials, namely cobblestone, iron, gold or diamond as shown below.
