Knights of The Old Republic – a Classic Record Breaking Masterpiece!

One of the Best RPGs Ever: Star Wars – Knights of the Old Republic.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is another game developed by the famous gaming company Bioware, the maker of Jade Empire. Bioware has many successful games under its belt. One of them happens to be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. With awesome gameplay, a marvelous storyline and beautiful graphics this game ranks as one of the best games ever in the history of gaming. It has received many awards for its gameplay and has recently been crowned as the second best game by Gamespy on the Xbox.This game is one of the most memorable games ever, again crowned by Gamespy. Most of you have probably watched the Star Wars movies and have nice memories about them. This game is based around 4000 years in the past from the Rise of Darth Vader. The game is based around the struggle of the main character along with the help of his followers to overthrow Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Malak. Along his journey, he learns the way of the Jedi and unravels many secrets of his destiny. (I am trying to make this review as spoiler free as possible). This review can also be considered as a guide to how to master the controls and go through the game successfully. I hope you utilize all the tips I give you in this to fully enjoy it.

Like all RPGs this game has a fully explorable environment which the player can fully explore. The worlds are beautiful and according to me the graphics are amazing. The graphics were the best in the time the game was released and due to the quality of the game, I can say that this game makes up for the difference in graphics compared with contemporary games by its awesome story, gameplay, etc.

Main Attributes

There are 6 main attributes that are important in this game. They are possessed by the main classes:

Strength (Str): This represents physical power of the character. A high Strength level adds modifiers to melee damage and chance to hit and is important for using melee weapons (close range)

Dexterity (Dex): This attribute is for agility and reflexes. A high Dexterity will enable a person to be able to avoid ranged attacks and increases their defence making the character harder to hit.

Constitution (Con): This is for health and resiliency. A high Constitution increases the number of health points gained at each level up. This is a very important for all characters but most essential for the direct fighters.

Wisdom (Wis): This represents willpower and perception skills. A high Wisdom adds modifiers to Jedi Force points and Force power saving throws. The force powers of a Jedi with high wisdom are much harder to resist for the enemies.

Intelligence (Int): An attribute to knowledge and reasoning. A high Intelligence positively modifies the number of points a character has to spend on essential skills.

Charisma (Cha): Charisma is for personality and the ability to lead.  This is very important to the main character. A high Charisma adds modifiers to Force-related feats and powers that are very important to all the Jedi classes. It is needed to be a persuasive talker in the game.
