Developers MechWarrior Online reported on the ongoing battle in information war.
Associated with recognition of the location of the enemy, his status and intentions, as well as exchange of information with friendly units. To implement this concept developers have introduced the concept BattleGrid, representing a combination of the command center and dynamically changing map of hostilities. BattleGrid will be performed as an additional element (extension) of the instrument panel (HUD), a feature which will meet the specific modules. The modules will be placed on the panel Module Board, without affecting the slots for the equipment and the total tonnage of furs. Access to the modules will be given in the course of character development in the pilot’s skill tree (Pilot Tree).
Especially for the use of modules had been developed target recognition based on the principles of direct visibility zones and detection (Line of Sight / Detection, LOSD). In LOSD-mechanics the player will receive information only on those opponents who are in direct line of sight, radar detected fur or designated by the work of the external detection (satellite detectors and friendly units.) Additionally in mechanics may be several modes of detection of targets (night vision, thermal vision, magnetometer), as well as electronic warfare (Electronic Counter Measures, ECM), creating a simulated noise-blocking or interrupting signals and decipher enemy.
