Magmar is a fire type Pokemon that can be evolved from a Magby upon reaching level 30. Magmar can also be evolved into a Magmortar if it is holding a Magmarizer while it is traded. Magmar’s only special ability is Flame Body no matter what Pokemon video game you are playing. Now for all the not-so-random facts about Magmar!
- Magmar is 4 feet and 3 inches tall
- Magmar weighs 98.1 pounds
- Magmar’s shiny form has pink flames instead of yellow flames
- Magmar’s name is derived from the word magma
- Magmar’s secret ability is Vital Spirit
Magmar basically goes hand in hand with Electabuzz. Electabuzz is only found in Pokemon Red while Magmar is found in Pokemon Blue. You think it would be the opposite since Magmar is RED. There are just as many locations for Magmar as there is for Electabuzz, which means there are not a lot at all! I have listed all the locations for Magmar below.
- Blue - Inside the Pokemon Mansion
- Silver/Gold - In the Burned Tower
- Crystal - On Mount Silver
- LeafGreen - On Mount Ember
- Platinum - In Fuego Ironworks
- SoulSilver/HeartGold - In the Burned Tower and Safari Zone
If Magmar is not in the Pokemon video game that you need him to be in you can always either migrate or trade to get him in any game. If you do manage to catch a Magmar then it acts as a really great fire Pokemon. Evolving your Magmar into a Magmortar is not even necessary as Magmar is strong enough.
