Prototype Review: Xbox 360
Whether it’s taking your own approach to invading a military base, or free-roaming around Manhattan destroying what lies in your path, my experience so far has been rather exciting and fun.
Right off the bat, no intro needed, this game is sweet. Intensity from the moment you start playing. You get this rush of slaughtering enemies with different power ups, weapons, and vehicles.
Prototype is a “sandbox” game. What that means is there is a “do what you want” feel to it. Whether it’s taking your own approach to invading a military base, or, to free-roaming around Manhatten destroying what lies in your path. My experience so far has been rather exciting/fun. I’ve witnessed the city drastically change from a somewhat peaceful place to a rotten virus infested nightmare.
The storyline is pretty good. You’re a man named Alex Mercer who is trying to regain his memory and find out what’s causing this nasty virus to spread all over the city. You go around collecting memories by “consuming” certain doctors and military personnel to progress.
Flexability in Prototype comes from the upgrade system. Being able to chose what you want at all times is pretty nice. You have many different defensive/offensive combos to work with to ensure many different styles of gameplay.I thought I’d be upset with not being able to steal cars, turns out, I don’t need them. Running up buildings, hijacking tanks, and being able to glide kindly makes up for all of that!
The missions vary from extremely frustrating and hard, to rather simple and fun. It depends on what you’re using at the time. I can say it keeps me coming back for more. Nothing says “this game rocks” like grabbing a civilian from the streets, running with him up the side of a large building and then pile-driving him hundreds of feet below into a taxi cab.
I do have my complaints, though. The “grab” system is a little buggy. I want to pick up a machine gun, but I end trying to grab a large enemy. Stuff like that gets in the way but its not enough to lesser my gameplay experience.
The best way to think of this game before buying it is something along the lines of “Grand Theft Auto, Spiderman, Wolverine, and Crackdown” all rolled up into one. I love this game. I’d reccommend it to people who love gory, violent, and addictive games. I’d give it a 4.5 out of 5.

nice review. i think i might get this game. thanks
