Resident Evil 5 Weapons Guide

A guide to help the player find, buy, upgrade and get infinite ammo for all of the guns in Resident Evil 5.

Handguns

Beretta 92F (M92F)

  • This is the first gun you will be given on Chapter 1-1.
  • It is also available from the shop for 2000 gold.
  • It will cost 85,000 gold to fully upgrade the gun.
  • It then costs 6000 points to unlock infinite ammo.

H&K P8

  • This gun can be purchased from the shop once you reach Chapter 3-1 (4000 gold)
  • It will cost you 84,000 gold to fully upgrade this gun.
  • It then costs 10,000 points to get infinite ammo.

SIG P226

  •  This gun can be purchased from the store once you reach Chapter 5-1 (4000 gold)
  • The total cost of upgrading this gun is 81,000 gold.
  • It will then cost 10,000 points to get infinite ammo.

M93R

  • This gun can be purchased for 30,000 gold once you have fully upgraded the 92F.
  • It will cost you 86,000 gold pieces to upgrade the weapon fully.
  • It then costs a huge 20,000 points to get infinite ammo.

Magnums

S&W M29

  • This gun can be bought for 3000 gold after it is found underneath a hut on Chapter 3-1. It is shown underneath one of the huts within the tribal village, shining slightly.
  • It will cost 78,000 gold to upgrade.
  • It then costs 15,000 points to give it infinite ammo.

L. Hawk

  • This gun is found in Chapter 5-3, in the coffin/casket that you can open with Sheva.
  • Once found it can be re-purchased for 5000 gold.
  • It will cost 71,000 gold to upgrade fully.
  • It will then cost 15,000 points to get infinite ammo.
  • This gun is widely believed to be the best to focus on getting infinite ammo on because of its power and ease of use as well as being relatively cheap to upgrade completely.

S&W M500

  • This weapon can be bought after you’ve fully upgraded the S&W M29, for 30,000 gold pieces.
  • It will cost 89,000 gold for you to buy all of the upgrades.
  • It then costs the player 20,000 points to get infinite ammo.

Machine Guns

VZ61

  • This gun is found in a silver case during the battle with the Executioner in Chapter 1-1.
  • Once it has been found it can be bought with 2000 gold.
  • It costs 75,000 gold to fully upgrade the weapon.
  • It then costs just 6000 points to get it equipped with infinite ammo.

MP5

  • This gun is very easy to find at the very beginning of Chapter 2-1 and can be purchased then on for 2000 gold.
  • This gun will cost you 67,000 gold if you were to buy all of the upgrades.
  • 10,000 points are then required to unlock infinite ammo for this gun.

AK74

  • This gun can be found in Chapter 5-1. In the underground labs there is a side room with a silver case which contains this gun. It is easy to find so long as you explore.
  • The gun can then purchased for 4000 gold at the store.
  • This machine gun will cost you 73,000 gold to upgrade.
  • It also costs 15,000 point to give the weapon infinite ammo.

SIG 556

  • This gun is found in the second conveyor belt area, in plain sight in a silver case upon a table.
  • Once it has been found this machine gun can be purchased for 4000 gold pieces.
  • The gun will cost you a total of 71,000 gold.
  • Infinite ammo can then be unlocked for 15,000 points in the Bonus Features menu.

Chris’s Gatling Gun

  • This gun is unlocked after you have purchased all of the upgrades for the VZ61.
  • It can be purchased for 50,000 gold at the store.
  • It is already fully upgraded and equipped at infinite ammo.

Shotguns

Icatha 37

  • This gun can be found in Chapter 1-2, in the locked building opposite building which the blonde woman is dragged into.
  • Once it has been found in the story this gun can be purchased for 2000 gold at the store.
  • You will have to pay 70,000 gold in order to fully upgrade it.
  • You will then have to have pay 8000 points to unlock infinite ammo.

M3

  • This gun is found in Chapter 3-3, in the second area that your boat is forced to stop in.
  • Once it has been found you can purchase it at the store for 4000 gold.
  • It will cost you 73,000 gold to fully upgrade the gun fully.
  • It will then be 12,000 points to get infinite ammo.

“Jail Breaker”

  • This gun is found in Chapter 6-1, underneath the metal stairs that you descend when Chris is telling Sheva of his past with Wesker.
  • You can purchase it for 4000 gold once you have found it.
  • It will then cost the player 85,000 gold to fully upgrade.
  • It will also cost 12,000 points to get infinite ammo.

“Hydra”

  • This gun is available in the shop once you have fully upgraded the Icatha, although it will still cost you 30,000 gold.
  • It will cost you a huge 94,000 gold to fully upgrade.
  • You will also need 20,000 points to unlock infinite ammo.

Sniper Rifles

S75

  • This rifle is found in Chapter 2-1. After moving through the locked gate you should investigate the building which the enemies spawn from.
  • Once you have found this rifle you can purchase it from the store for 2000 gold.
  • It will cost you a surprising 90,000 gold to fully upgrade completely.
  • It then costs you 15,000 points to unlock infinite ammo.

Dragunov

  • This can be found in a locker in Chapter 2-2. It is just after a cutscene, in which you find yourself in a building with a window overlooking zombies in the distance.
  • Once you have found the rifle you can purchase it for 4000 gold.
  • It will then cost you just 62,000 gold to upgrade it completely.
  • You will then need 15,000 points to unlock infinite ammo for the gun, however.

PSG-1

  • This rifle is located in the catwalk area of Chapter 5-3. If you’ve reached missile silos then you have gone too far.
  • It will cost you 4000 gold for the base model in the shop.
  • You will then have to pay 64,000 gold to upgrade this rifle fully.
  • You will also have to spend 15,000 hard-earned points to unlock infinite ammo.
  • Sheva’s Longbow
  • This is Sheva’s “special” weapon which can be obtained from the shop for 50,000 gold after you have fully upgraded the S75.
  • As with Chris’ special gun it is already fully upgraded and equipped with infinite ammo.

Others

Grenade Launcher

  • This can be found in a silver case in Chapter 4-1. In is in the underground area of the room with all of the statues that have levers to pull.
  • Once you have found the weapon it can be purchased for 10,000 gold.
  • Upgrades: N/A
  • Infinite Ammo: N/A

Rocket Launcher

  • This weapon is found on an abandoned boat in Chapter 3-1, which shows up as a small dot in the middle of the mini map.
  • Once you have found the gun to begin with you can purchase another for 10,000 gold at the shop.
  • This gun cannot be upgraded, however if you complete the game in under 5 hours you can get infinite ammo for the rocket launcher for free.

Stun Rod

  • This weapon can be purchased from the shop after the player has completed Chapter 2-3.
    It will cost the player 3000 gold to purchase.
  • It cannot be upgraded at all and it is already equipped with infinite ammo.

Cost of purchasing all weapons: 263,000 gold.

Cost of upgrading all weapons completely: 1,398,000 gold.

Cost of infinite ammo for all weapons: 239,000 points.

    when playing co-op can both players have infinite weapons and how do we do that? we would really appreciate it if you can help us with this question. Mel&Ana

    Yes. Just buy the same gun for example u have rocket launcher infinate ammo buy another and it also has infinate ammo.

    the person joining must have there infinite ammo turnned on by pushing start first when u start up the game and go through that way.
